I am a reservist on active duty. I voluntarily extended for a second year that is up in early February. I am contemplating on extending for another six months but I will wait until after the election. If Kerry is elected we will lose many first term enlistees (they won't reenlist) and people who are near retirement (20 years) will not remain after their twenty. Most mid-career people will probably remain because they have too much invested and can hope for a change in four years.

I've got 10 years in E7 and I probably won't re-up.

I was a liberal puke in college (if I could go back in time and meet myself I'd probably kick my own ass)who bought into the whole Clintonion service ethic. I didn't do Job Corps or Habitat For Humanity, I did a hitch in the Army as a 19D Cavalry Scout. Then I did another, and another...

Out of college and facing reality, I started to see the truth. The liberal Democrats were having REM play their birthday parties and rock and roll was in the White House, but they were giving away the store. I could not justify what was happening to the country to my fellow soldiers. When Clinton lied to us about Monica Lewinski that was the nail in the coffin. How do you justify something like that to someone who lives the creedo Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, Personal Courage? This is our boss? Kerry is Clinton X10.

I was planning on getting out 3 years ago but re-upped again after 9/11 and have since done a tour in Iraq, but now I'm back and I'm done. If things get really bad and they need me I'll go, but there are some really big battles that need to be fought here at home, and I can't sit back and watch.
