Thank you all for the excellent responses. Must hit the pillow now -- starting early tomorrow morning canvassing a very large area with a large contingent of county Republicans (there will be about twenty of us).

If only the average American possessed the knowledge and insight represented on this thread, the polls would be reading 90/10 right now -- as they should be. (Any society has to put up with its statistically normal ten percent village idiocy. :)

This will be a remarkable outcome (occurring in spite of all borderline criminal machinations), and will only occur if the Republican ticket’s genuine support is nothing short of landslide proportions, the likes of which could not even be negated by massive voter fraud and pre-election plans to steal the electoral votes of swing states whose totals appear close.
