Now the Red Sox management will pressure him to release another statement saying he wasn't pressured!

Well, the country still knows he supports Bush. That he is not campaigning with Bush, I think will make people mad at KErry for strong-arm tactics.
To: WoodstockCat
Actually, it's 1:05 PM. The other NH rally is 11:05.
To: maryz
I saw it. I think MadIvan called it. This wasn't Theo Epstein growing a controversy for the hell of it a day after the World Series. They don't need to piss off their staff anchor (now that Pedro's leaving) the day after the World Series because of John Kerry.

AP wasting no time to add this part in
On Thursday, he was at Disney World in Florida for a parade, and he accepted the Bush campaign's invitation to campaign with the Republican incumbent in New Hampshire.
Many of the people lining up Friday morning for Bush's first event, a rally at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, were there more for Schilling than for the president. These included Republican Congressman Jeb Bradley, who was wearing a Red Sox cap and said he hoped Schilling would sign it. Children carried baseballs, also hoping for autographs.
David Cummings, 26, of Hamilton, Mass., was disappointed, saying, "It was exciting when I heard Schilling was going to put out the first pitch'' for the president.

Tom Werner (Mr. Katie Couric) is co-owner of the Red Sox and was campaigning for Kerry in Florida. that is the answer.
To: Andy'smom
The owners did. Both have donated to the Kerry campaign. One even appeared with him at at rally. I know one of the owners - Thomas Werner (Sox Chairman) - is a Kerry supporter. Does anyone know if the other partners John Henry (principal owner) and Larry Lucchino (Sox CEO) have supported Kerry?

Actually, he dumped her.

Typical. Some can talk the talk others walk the walk. There has to be pressure applied from some one for him to back off this suddenly. Shows poor character if nothing else.
To: nutmeg
John Henry's a rabid Dem. But this is not about them.
If this story is true, it's outside pressure.
