I don't know about all this, something has got to be phony. If this tape were ligit, then the cia, fbi, ss, homeland sec. would be on abc in a second to hand over the entire tape. something smells here. I have suspicions this tape is not genuine, not directly from whomever is running al qaida. Maybe this nutjob from cal is behind it in an attempt to scare voters away from GWB, and the fbi have had their eyes on him, but I don't think he is the real article. there is definitly something more going on here than we are aware. no doubt politically motivated but not what it appears to be.

You need to read the CSM article on the tape. The everyone thinks it's authentic INCLUDING our government.

Their "balance" is how can they frame this story so that the American people do what the terrorists want and not re-elect George Bush. If they play the whole tape they risk Americans thumbing their nose at the enemy and re-electing him...that's not what ABCNews wants, but they also don't want George Bush elected and because that is also what the terrorists want and they have not yet sunk so low as to openly admit they agree with the terrorists...

Let's face it, the terrorists want Bush out of office why? They want Kerry in why? Because Bush is kicking their ass and doesn't really care what the U.N. or anyone else wants.

This doesn't work when the terrorist strategy is to use the media, the liberal whiners and strategically timed and placed attacks to cause global instability in the hope of an Islamic regime taking hold everywhere across the globe.

See my post 373, the Christian Science Monitor thought they viewed the entire tape, but note that they said the warning "cuts off abruptly when the tape runs out". This is NOT consistent with the reported high quality editing and production of the tape. ABC (or someone) had already cut it!!!

I dont know, it's clear the Terrorists are trying to have a Madrid-type effect on US elections. I dont know what ABC was thinking (or not) but the idea that the US could capitulate like Spain did to this escallation in terror is truly frightening.

Reportedly (republican radio all day long) the tape says something like "you re-elected Bush" RE-ELECTED. I`ve heard people say this will make people vote for Kerry in a "please don`t hurt us" message. I disagree. I think it`ll lead to a "OH, YEAH? BRING IT ON OSAMA!!" message. IMHO
