I have a talk radio home & car. All talk, all day, every day. Needless to say, my radio is on alot. In the shadow of this and other posts, I have noticed more tests of the Emergency Broadcast System these past few days.
The last was just a few minutes ago on WDUN (Gainesville, GA) while listening to Sean. Hopefully, it is a case of being prepared. In fact it is prudent for them to be prepared for any possibility. I would rather them err on the side of caution.
I also remember President Bush speaking of a recent threat, but one which was not specific enough to warrant a change in the alert level (or words to that effect).
I am not an alarmist, but as I mentioned before, we should all be prepared. The President is not lying to us when he says "Not if, but when."
Kerry is making empty promises.
That's what I wanted to know - whether ABC was engaging in their hiding this tape in an effort to hurt Bush, or because they thought it would (rightly) remind everyone of the terror threat and therefore make them more likely to vote for Bush.
There was talk of Guatemalan terrorists/Al Qaeda trained, having infiltrated through Mexico, heading toward California or already in place, with plans to blow up several cities. Because of this, the rumor goes, Arnold could only give one day...Friday...to helping Bush campaign in Ohio. He has to rush back to California. This could be true.
I was being kind when I used the word pause...actually I should have used "suspicion."

Why? Well, the guy on the tape apparently has American ties, meaning he should have a better working knowledge of how Americans act and think than most terrorists who, like Hitler, have a very warped view of what America is and what makes its people tick.
Anyway, this piece of s**t should know that such braggadocio and over the top/overheated language won't intimidate Americans into submission.
The overheated language common among so many sexually frustrated, gender confused, penile size-challenged Arab terrorists may play well in Ramallah or Fallujah, but not here.

This tape business would logically only serve to
try to make people react like Spain did in their
recent election and elect the "liberal cut & runner".

In response: Yes, the media is biased,leftist, supports what keeps their pockets lined, and lies to the public. It has always been this way. There are exceptions to be found, I am sure.

It depends. IMHO it will help Bush, but I sing in the choir. It strengthens my resolve.
Well, it was ABC that sent out the memo during the debates that instructed their journalist to treat the candidates differently.
It admitted Kerry used fabrications, but they were not to be questioned, because it was up to ABC to discern what the listener should know and influence their impression of what was being said.
I'd say ABC is right behind CBS and the NYT in their bias.
I thought the person who caught the Millenium bomber was a border patrol agent, doing a routine stop, up on the Washington/Canadian border. A woman.
She noticed a very nervous man in a car at the border crossing. She stopped him and searched the car, expecting to find drugs. Instead, she found explosives.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think the FBI had a hand in this -- at least until after the guy was caught.

I was just trolling over at DU to see their take on this story. They are saying Karl Rove and the Freepers leaked the story to Drudge, Fox. Paranoia runs deep.
This is absolutely right. They didn't say it wasn't real. They said they haven't verified the veracity yet. Definitely not the same thing...
