Not in Massachusetts. John Kerry and Edward Kennedy are on record as believing that it is better for you to be murdered by a terrorist than be allowed to defend yourself with an evil firearm.

This guy has a book about the legality of carrying a concealed weapon. It's a must read for anyone who's thinking about getting a weapon for self defense.

Get your CCW and carry. The police can't be everywhere you are, but you are!

AYOOB is a well respected "gun writer" and I've read (and enjoyed) many of his peices.... that said, he's also a ego-maniac/fruitcake, and has had his share of problems with the legal community.

You've got your way out there lefties and your way out there righties, and he's for sure the later.

Thanks.

"...out of my cold dead hand." We ALL need to use a firearm, including women and children old enough to understand. Of course, safety first.

A BB pistol can be a good training weapon, since many of us don't have access to a back yard pistol range.

Everything I've read of his relating to firearms is good. I can't think of political pieces of his, if I've seen them I've passed them by.

Mass is one of those 'self-created authorities.' He's now been around so long in the gun writer community that people tend to believe everything he writes. A lot of it is just common sense, which, sad to say, is sometimes sorely lacking.
I've never had a beef with him. He came along at the right time and created a niche for what he has to sell.
Like I said...IMO...he's a self-created authority.

I have that exact same 38 under the pillow next to me at night. The surrounding neighborhoods are getting a little rough. In fact there is a gun in almost every room, not counting the 9mm in my purse.

My theory is, when you need one, you don't have time to go looking for one. I know how fast things can go bad. It's not that I am afraid to die, it's more that I want to get a little pay back before I go.

If you were Theresa Kerry, you'd need hundred's of handguns. For the rooms. If she's a Marcos clone, purses rather than shoes, thousands.

No worry there, I don't make the mall scene except at Christmas, and I hate purses. I have three and that is two, too many.

Not in Nebraska. A few very liberal senators in our Unicameral keep the issue from coming to a vote. Though Bush will beat Kerry by 30 points here, sometimes the state government seems awfully liberal when it comes to self-protection issues.

For home defense, I still think a shotgun is best. There's a Mossberg short barrel pump next to my dresser and I carry a S&W .40 everywhere else. Especially under current circumstances, we cannot allow anyone to get into a position of power who would limit carry rights in any way; in fact, we need to push all the harder for expansion of interstate reciprocity as well as opening up states like Massachusetts, Maryland and Illinois. I carried when it wasn't legal and where it wasn't legal and it's my opinion that citizens should ignore laws that prohibit delf-defense or defense of family, but it is a lot easier when you can just go ahead and get a permit. I can see right now that these terrorists have never confronted a squad of Redneck Special Forces.

I have an old fashioned double barrel hammer shotgun next to my bed. No safety to fumble with, just grab it, cock the hammers and you're ready to go.

that said, he's also a ego-maniac/fruitcake, and has had his share of problems with the legal community.

With all due respect, that statement falls into the category of unsubstantiated allegation.

Please provide some examples to support your comment at your earliest convenience.

I thought we were supposed to call the police and let the professionals take care of it.

I know you're trying to be funny, but that is exactly what you should do, if at all possible. Sometimes, though, it's not possible, and that's why you carry.
