BTW, quiz time: How many nuclear tests were conducted here in NM??

I don't know. I can't remember when the tests were moved to Nevada.

Just one nuclear test in NM. I was in Alamogordo at the time -- we were told an ammunition dump blew up.

Three:

Trinity- July 16, 1945

Nougat Gnome- December 10, 1961
Gasbuggy- December 10, 1967

When I was in New Mexico earlier this year, I took the Trinity tour and also drove out to Gnome. I couldn't get to Gasbuggy as the roads going out to it were so bad (due to an insane amount of rain) that 4x4 trucks had to use chains so they wouldn't get stuck.
