You're exactly right. The current all-volunteer will likely lose both through people leaving as well as not getting new recruits. Of course, when Kerry institutes a draft, he'll blame it on George Bush anyway.
The uniformed voters, need to be informed by those who are informed.
John Edwards hasn't gotten much scrutiny so far but he would get it then.
That one was funny!!!!
I know you're right.
(7) A NEW ERA OF NATIONAL SERVICE. John Kerry will call on Americans of all ages from students to Americas seniors - to serve in our classrooms, after school programs, nursing homes and nursery schools. We will fight to allow students to earn four years of college tuition in exchange for two years of national service. His plan will require mandatory national service for high school kids and enlist a million Americans in service a year.
two vanities same day same subject

You're right, Kerry will blame it on Bush but the Bush voters will blame the Kerry voters.
Who cares, the more we get the word out the better. Kabar sounds foriegn, are you a foriegner who doesn't care about Americans?
I just heard the other day that although enlistments have been meeting and exceeding goals, they're on their way down...could be a LOT of them are waiting to see what's decided in Nov.
Since I currently serve on a draft board I can answer some of these questions.
The names of draft age people are had by the schools system and drivers license applications (in some states) It is much like the motor voter law. And of course there is always the actual list of males who have registered. Which is what I suspect the political organizations may use, or it could be simply just the voter list stratified by gender/draft age.
There are absolutely no draft cards being issued to draft age people. Draft board members are issued cards however.
The registration age is 18-26 but not the draft age. Which will start at age 20 if a draft is to resume. For the manpower draft you can be drafted to age 45, for the medical services draft you can be drafted to age 55.
And No it wont assist women to avoid the draft simply by becoming pregnant. And going to Canada isnt an option either.
This could happen. Kerry doesn't care about anybody but Kerry. Do you think that after the campaigns are over Kerry will ever again shake a poor person's hand?
Picked this gem off of a liberal message board:
Wow, this is scary.
I had a draft card in 1988.
I was referring to the fake scare draft cards the draft aged people are getting and the phone calls. Is the information you referneced publicly available for these organizations to use, or is the information being improperly provided to them?
There's just no hope for these liberal swine.
You've said and said good.
LOL, because Colin Powell wouldn't know anything about being in the military.
But I am sure Kerry is an expert!
They would draft pregnant young women? That makes no sense. How would they perform their boot camp duty? I think a lot of them would get prenant to avoid it. Not that it would be the right thing to do, but they would. This is the deep south where kids get pregnant early anyway. Met a guy this week at the car repair shop who is 20 and has three kids, the oldest is four. It was nothing unusual to see pregnant 6th grade girls here. Thank goodness my kids didn't do that. But my dauther's best friend is single and just had a baby! Sheesh.
