Powell says he's not dead. I think Powells informed opinion is probably better than ours.

BTW, I've thought he was dead for a while now but evidently I was wrong.

I used to consider that possibility.

Not anymore. There is simply no way we would not have announced it by now if that were the case. We would have eventually determined it even if we did not have a body.
