"I understand John Kerry bought some camoflauge gear today, which tells me he doesn't do a lot of goose hunting.

"What does that mean? I love Cheney, but goose hunters use a lot of camouflage."

Aye, but if you do a lot of goose hunting you already OWN the camo. Right? It's not the camo, it's the "just bought it today" that makes the point.

He should have bought some camo pants to go with that coat.

It means that Kerry bought the hunting gear TODAY.....just for the photo-op. The VP is making the point that Kerry obviously doesn't hunt if he had to run out and buy gear to do it in. Capiche?

I may have got this wrong but from what I read and from the clip I saw on TV he was not saying that goose hunters do not wear camouflage but was inferring that Kerry was not a regular hunter if he had to buy new camouflage gear. In other words if he going on a goose hunt surely he would have bought his normal hunting gear especially if he is trying to portray that he is a regular guy not brand new clothes.

That was my interpretation anyway.
