Next year, nobody will remember 0-3.

Oh no, us NYers will never hear of this again....

They are now the greatest DYNASTY in the history of the NFL!

This has more to do with Baseball, but do you realize how LONG it has been that New England fans have had to wait just so they could have this day? They will tout it, so deal with it, there's NO DOUBT they deserve it!!!

What you're really going to have to be prepared for is if the Sox win the WS. You may have to take leave, oh don't worry, Sox fans will probably make it a NATIONAL holiday anyway!

Did you know that they are actually the best team ever because of that comeback. They did something no other team has been able to do before in the HISTORY of the GAME?

One could argue that the "best team ever" shouldn't have lost the three games, one of them by giving up 19 runs. Maybe the best comeback in sports history?

I like these guys. Whenever an announcer asks them about themselves, they all talk about how great everyone else is.

"...there's NO DOUBT they deserve it!!!"

So what you're saying is that Red Sox fans deserve it because they have been losers for so long. "Deserve it"? Hmmm.... has such a liberal tone to it...

Now most of the time, Torre's calm, competent professional style is exactly what these guys need. But when they are asleep at the switch, somebody has to wake them up.

It seemed to me that Francona and Martinez stepped up and did Torre's job last night (for one inning, anyway)! ;-) Sure fired up the crowd again!

Heh, this win should provide a little consolation for the Bostonians as their presidential candidate tanks... ;-)

The Red Sox win and Kerry loses. Doesn't get much better than that 8-)

Question. Is "the curse" about the Yankees and the Red Sox or is it about the Red Sox winning the World Series?

WS. < gulp>

Winning the WS couldn't make us much happier though. Last night's win was sweet.

I garauntee you, at No point of that game did any Sox fan feel safe with that lead!

Not until the very last out. Only a fool doesn't learn from history!

My husband literally started to pull his hair when Francona pulled Lowe and put Martinez in. Somehow though, I don't know if any fans were honestly surprised? Not after last year when Martinez was left in after it was obvious to anyone that he should have been taken out.

Just wait until the World Series. I hope Roger Clemens throws a complete game one hitter to put the nail in the Red Sox coffin.

Sounds stupid but the WS, after this series, is almost a slight letdown? Maybe after all the late nights and continuously elevated blood pressure levels we need a 2 day break to let go and get fired up again.

I still can't believe it! In Yankee stadium, too! Made it all the sweeter!

RE: The 0-3 thing. Well, of course it has never been done before. But then again, no red headed one-footed left hander has ever won a game seven before, either. I'm not going to start jumping up and down when the first one does.

For instance, the fact that the Bosox forced a Game 7, which had also never happened before, would have been irrelevant and quickly forgotten if the Yankees had done their job and won last night. Similarly, the 0-3 thing will be rendered quickly irrelevant by the more serious business of what happens in the World Series.

I too was blown away by the move. But this might make you feel a bit better.

Let's keep it all in perspective Sox fans ... the "Curse" is still in effect. You may be setting yourselves up for a fall, and a healthy dose of humble pie. Never forget '75 and '86. Long live "The Curse" ..

Hey Boston, you may have gotten over "The Babe"

Now you've got to get over "The Rocket"

1918 was 86 years ago. Is there anyone alive who actually attended the final game of the 1918 World Series? If a 4-year-old was taken to the game, he'd be 90 now...but was it common to take young children to games then? If there are any surviving eyewitnesses, they are probably in their late 90s or older.

When Boston last won the World Series, Kaiser Wilhelm II was still in power in Germany, Karl I was the Austro-Hungarian emperor, and there was still an Ottoman Empire.

My husband said this morning that we should infiltrate all the NY Yankees message boards and say "Don't let Boston win another won!! Vote against John Kerry!!!"

I've never posted on a sports board before but I'm thinking of spending a little time on some.. any thoughts??

Could the Yankees losing help Bush in New York? Interesting.

"Could the Yankees losing help Bush in New York? Interesting."

NY and NJ too... lots and lots of fans there. Think of all those guys that call in to Sports Talk Radio!

Which is another idea, now that I think about it. I've never called a sports show, but voting against Kerry to not let Boston win again would be a good reason to call one!

"So depending on the outcome of the NLCS we could have a Massachusetts vs. Texas World Series. How cool is that?"

Bush 41 and Barbara have box seats right behind home plate (they go to Astros games quite often, and I've even seen Barbara keeping score via an official scorecard. They're good baseball fans), and it'd be grand to see Bush 43 make a quick cameo, decked out in Astros gear, for an Astros home game next week.

Now THAT'S cool!
