Mama T on Moms: Teresa Heinz Kerry pulls off the rare and amusing triple gaffe. [Hugh Hewitt]
The Weekly Standard ^ | October 21, 2004 | Hugh Hewitt

Posted on 10/20/2004 9:32:08 PM PDT by quidnunc

I understand moms don't read websites. Moms don't blog either (except for, say, MommyPundit or 200 other momblogs) or read newspapers or magazines. They probably don't even vote.

At least Teresa Heinz Kerry should hope they don't.

When the would-be first lady decided to take a shot at Laura Bush in yesterday's USA Today by stating that Mrs. Bush had never held a "real job," she committed the rarest of things — a triple gaffe. Like triple plays in baseball, these are rarely seen in these days of well-coached candidates and spouses. But Tuesday's was one for the ages.

First, it is bad form — very bad form — to speak in anything other than the most complimentary terms of your opponent's spouse. It's just tacky. But after the assault on Mary Cheney's privacy by John Kerry, Mary Beth Cahill, and Elizabeth Edwards, I guess more appearances of the merely tacky should not surprise.

Blunder two was to denigrate, by omission, the professions of teacher and librarian. Ms. H-K quickly figured out these were interest groups in good standing in the Democratic party and rushed out an apology: She had "forgotten" Laura's service as both. Not believable, of course, but acceptable damage control.

The simple truth is..... John Kerry and his wife are elitist who have made it clear that everyone in this country is beneath them and that they have all the answers and no one should ever challenge them.

It was Taraza who said that the media might not understand where she is coming from, but the "Commoners" do!

It was John Kerry who arrogantly claimed that among everyone in the auditorium, only he, the President and Bob Schiefer earned over $200,000 a year.

It was John Kerry who blamed the Conductor of the Train who forgot to stop at a Rally in the Midwest

It was John Kerry who cursed one of his Secret Service for making him fall while snow skiing.

John Kerry is an empty suit that nobody should take seriously as someone who could be President

"First, it is bad form — very bad form — to speak in anything other than the most complimentary terms of your opponent's spouse.."

Our classy first lady certainly understands this!

When I first read about teresa's remarks this afternoon, I couldn't believe it! Like the author says, there are still 12 days left! Keep on talkin' mama t!

I posted on another thread about what would be the October surprise, that it would be that the women in the NEA would all pull their support from Kerry and throw it to President Bush. (I can dream, can't I?)

Can't we write in Teresa for some office.
I hate to see this woman go away. I hope Kerry runs in 2008 against Hillary. I believe Teresa is the right woman to confront Hillary!

Teresa vs. Hillary.

Oh my God, I just saw Kerry speaking French. I gotta go!

John Kerry cost himself 5 points of the vote with the Mary Cheney comment.

Theresa cost him 3 more with this.

They keep this up and we won't need an October Surprise.

You know, that stupid woman will be the biggest downfall of Kerry ... how dare she insult me and every other SAHM ! I worked for 15 years before I became a SAHM, and let me tell you - becoming a full-time mom was the hardest freaking thing I ever did! 24/7, 265 !!! Never a day off, never a private bathroom break or solo trip to any store, ever. But now that I've done it for 8 years, it has been the best thing I have ever done in my life so far. My kids are wonderful and I was there for it all. So I have only one thing to say to you, Teresa - shove it !!!!!!!!

Mara Liason on Britt Hume's Special Report kept insisting this was not a gaffe. The RAT media are in so much denial about this old drunken hag they can't bring themselves to admit what a loose cannon she is. In a way, this is good, as long as the hag keeps drinking and talking.

She did it on purpose all right .. to make herself look better than Laura - more important - more intelligent - whatever. The "shove it" person is a condscending idiot. Who in their right mind would want her or her lying husband to run America ..??

Remember Mark Steyn writing about Kerry stopping in front of man and rather than excuse himself his staff stepped forward and ask the man to move so the senetor could pass? Makes one wonder if he can manage bathroom activities by himself.
