I've sent link everywhere I can think of - RUSH, etc - maybe if they got enough= emails, they'd show it just for a humor spot? Even tho' most of is dead serious - the "virgins" clip alone could qualify it as humor! ; )

Yes, I agree, it's powerful and moving. As I said, I'm doubtful that it can be played by media outlets for at least two reasons: one is copyright restrictions on the song. The other reason is that some people will object that it comes to close to 'worshiping' George Bush - because they say the song was about Christ. I've even seen some of that on this forum. I have a hard time making the words make a whole lot of sense that way, but when you play it for millions of people, you'd get lots of different reactions.

but don't all you have to do is pay a use fee ? Anytime a song is used anywhere in public - even "Happy Birthday" - there is a small fee to pay -

but there have been some posts earlier on a previous post of this that showed ire and self-righteousness. We have to remember that there are people on the far out fringes of our side too. And the ultra self-righteous of some religious beliefs can be just as vitriolic as the worst liberals.
We don't want a big controversy that would sully this wonderful piece.
I guess the watch word would be "Don't throw pearls to the pigs"? Just repost this daily so's more can catch it and pass it along via email - it will spread wide and far

To Bommer: it is a very nice video.

To maine-iac7, the song is about Jesus, the man who comes round, each line in the song has a Biblical reference, and most of those references are dealing with eschatology (end times stuff)

The reason some Christians might have a bit of a pause, is the song's references are very well understood by them. When they hear those references they think of Jesus, or His returning.

Let me give one example; "the virgins trimming their wicks" is from a parable Jesus told to encourage people to be ready at all times because we would not know when He was coming back. So you can see why if you know all those references why the video would be a bit amiss to the biblical understanding.

Don't be so hard on the Christians, 30% of the President's support will come from them.
