And I heard, as it were, the noise of thunder: One of the four beasts saying: "Come and see." And I saw. And behold, a white horse.
There's a man goin' 'round takin' names. An' he decides who to free and who to blame. Everybody won't be treated all the same. There'll be a golden ladder reaching down. When the man comes around.
The hairs on your arm will stand up. At the terror in each sip and in each sup. For you partake of that last offered cup, Or disappear into the potter's ground. When the man comes around.
Hear the trumpets, hear the pipers. One hundred million angels singin'. Multitudes are marching to the big kettle drum. Voices callin', voices cryin'. Some are born an' some are dyin'. It's Alpha's and Omega's Kingdom come.
And the whirlwind is in the thorn tree. The virgins are all trimming their wicks. The whirlwind is in the thorn tree. It's hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Till Armageddon, no Shalam, no Shalom. Then the father hen will call his chickens home. The wise men will bow down before the throne. And at his feet they'll cast their golden crown. When the man comes around.
Whoever is unjust, let him be unjust still. Whoever is righteous, let him be righteous still. Whoever is filthy, let him be filthy still. Listen to the words long written down, When the man comes around.
Hear the trumpets, hear the pipers. One hundred million angels singin'. Multitudes are marchin' to the big kettle drum.
In measured hundredweight and penny pound. When the man comes around.
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts, And I looked and behold: a pale horse. And his name, that sat on him, was Death. And Hell followed with him.
Can we get a mega ping from the king of ping?
Inspiring, thanks!
I agree with everyone else. This is the best ever! I sent to everyone I know. I have watched it so many time I have lost count! It says it all!!!!! THANKS AGAIN!
and well deserved!!!
most excellentay!
Yes, I agree, it's powerful and moving. As I said, I'm doubtful that it can be played by media outlets for at least two reasons: one is copyright restrictions on the song. The other reason is that some people will object that it comes to close to 'worshiping' George Bush - because they say the song was about Christ. I've even seen some of that on this forum. I have a hard time making the words make a whole lot of sense that way, but when you play it for millions of people, you'd get lots of different reactions.
re permission to use Cash's song - yes he wrote it -
but don't all you have to do is pay a use fee ? Anytime a song is used anywhere in public - even "Happy Birthday" - there is a small fee to pay -
But I don't know thru' who

It's comforting to know folk like you and Bommer - and everyone "in here" are "out there."
Sometimes I feel I'm living in a world gone mad...then I come here to visit and get a respite...

WOW. You all have GOT to see this if haven't already: http://pages.sbcglobal.net/bommer/When_The_Man_Comes_Around.html
Excellent job, bommer, this is so awesome. An awesome compilation of powerful images, all speaking so eloquently to what is at stake, what is most important in this election.
I'm awed at this, including (thankfully!) your skillful injection of humor, in right way, at right time -- 72 virgins, lol . . . thanks again and again . . . as it plays again and again.
Thanks for this most excellent tool.
Has "The Man" seen it? He should -- and I betcha Laura would love to see it --
The reason some Christians might have a bit of a pause, is the song's references are very well understood by them. When they hear those references they think of Jesus, or His returning.
Let me give one example; "the virgins trimming their wicks" is from a parable Jesus told to encourage people to be ready at all times because we would not know when He was coming back. So you can see why if you know all those references why the video would be a bit amiss to the biblical understanding.
Don't be so hard on the Christians, 30% of the President's support will come from them.
Thanks for an incredibly beautiful flash tribute.
