I am not from Oklahoma, but my husband is and his family still lives there. When Dr. Coburn was a congressman I followed him closely. He is a ob-gyn Dr. He is against abortion of any kind and is also a proponent of smaller government and the reason that he left the Congress was because he felt that Republicans were being irresponsible. He is a good man and I want him to win. The other guy, Brad Carson is portraying himself as a conservative, but have you ever known a Democrate that was a real Conservative?

Coburn is a good guy. He is very fiscally conservative, Pro-life.

Many Oklahoma Democrats are more conservative than NE Republicans.

I am in Oklahoma voting for Coburn because I want the Republicans to maintain control of the Senate. Other than that he doesn't really knock my socks off. I think that is why it is such a close race.

I went to med school with Tom at OUHSC. He was in my module during the first two years (the lab/lecture years), so I got to know him much better than I did the students who were not in our section. He was older than most of us by about ten years, and far more conservative at that point in time than I was, as a recent graduate of UC--Santa Cruz, transplanted back to Oklahoma. Tom was the real deal. He was scrupulously honest, said what he thought, and was also a tremendously compassionate person. He was the best advertisement for conservatism I had seen at that point in my life.

I since have moved to Arkansas and practice at Sparks Hopsital. Tom is not an ob-gyn, but completed a family practice residency at AHEC in Fort Smith at Sparks. He is well-remembered by the faculty here. He is one of the few FPs who still delivers babies; this has almost been eliminated by the trial lawyers.

I have not always agreed with Tom's positions, but know that he is a truly good man of the highest integrity. As I have aged, I have grown increasingly conservative, and now find myself agreeing with him on nearly all key positions. Since I live in AR I will be voting in AR. Nevertheless, I am proud to support his campaign.

I feel old. When I was in school we used Cliff Notes. Now they use internet message boards.

Dr. Coburn does not lisp when he speaks about his platform. This is a good thing.
