And if this was the New York Post scorning Michael Moore-on, we would hear all of the Rats crying about violations of the 1st amendment freedom of speech...they can give it, but they can't take it!

the Rats crying about violations of the 1st amendment freedom of speech

When the rats do it, it's freedom of speech. When our side does it...it's hate speech.

So, I guess Common Cause, et al,will be going after CBS for airing partisan political programming designed to effect the outcome of an election....oh, yes, a story that was COMPLETELY FALSE?

No, because defamation is okay when it is directed at a Republican...however, the truth is never okay when directed at a Rat

If David D. Smith, the CEO of Sinclair Broadcasting, knows what's good for him, he'll forget about airing a documentary critical of Democratic presidential contender Sen. John Kerry.

AIR THE DOCUMENTARY!

"The public airwaves should not be used by television executives to promote their partisan political agenda," Common Cause President Chellie Pingree told reporters in a telephone press conference. "This action crosses a line."

Then we need total reform is the current broadcast networks.

"The public airwaves should not be used by television executives to promote their partisan political agenda,"

I heard somewhere that Kerry is proud of his record. So what's the problem...

Whatever revenue Sinclair loses with leftist advertisers it will gain from conservative sponsors.

Kinda like the Left attacking Passion of The Christ. It really did not hurt Gibson's bottom line.

"I've decided I don't want to advertise on them," Adam Lee, the president of Lee Auto Malls, which owns 10 auto dealerships in Portland, Maine

Yet another public service by Sinclair: identifying advertisers who are on the wrong side of the issue.

I guess character still doesn't matter to these critics of Sinclair. It's interesting how the Bush DWI was OK to air last minute in 2000, because it showed that maybe Bush had something in his past to hide...but, something as minor as Kerry's treason and giving aid and comfort to the enemy in 1971, shouldn't be considered in 2004.

It's not about getting those licenses revoked, however – it's about employing a typical left-wing legal tactic: "Such challenges almost never result in lost licenses, but they often result in heavy legal costs for the station having to defend them," said the Times.

This is MSM blowhard-ese. "Heavy legal costs" do not occur until there is a HUGE number of critical comments filed at the station, or with the FCC. Typical Olde York Times misinformation, this.

"The public airwaves should not be used by television executives to promote their partisan political agenda"

Did the guy actually say this with a straight face?

Every day of my life I am bombarded with endless partisan Bush-bashing served up by "the TV news".
Not just cable news.
Local news channels.
Local newspapers.

Day after day for 4 years, without let up.
9/11 brought only momentary relief.
Within days, the Wednesday morning quarterbacks were back at their desks, pounding out laundry lists of what-ifs, could-haves and should-haves.

What gall.

New Yrok Times definitions:

If it's anti-American, anti-Christian, anti-family, anti-liberty, and/or anti-President Bush,then it's newsworthy.

If it's anti-Kerry, then it's politically charged propaganda, that must never be mentioned, and anyone who promotes it is evil and must be flayed!!!
