Jim White, U.S. Marine and Vietnam veteran, needs our prayers. He has cancer and his prognosis is awful.
Jim is about sixty and he's one of the best people I've ever met. I never saw him that he wasn't smiling.
Jim is married and has four children, several grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Several months ago he found out that he had cancer in his esophagus. His doctors told him that surgery would take care of it and that his chances of recovery following surgery would be excellent.
However, Jim's insurance company argued with his family and doctors over details for five weeks. At the end of those critical five weeks, it was discovered that the cancer had spread so severely that surgery was no longer a safe option.
Treatments since that time have not been able to defeat the widespread cancer. He is now extremely weak and due to the cancer in his brain he is now blind.
Jim White was a huge bear of a man and today he weighs less than a hundred pounds.
Marine prayers going up fast for him. My uncle suffered from the sams kind of cancer.
Damn those HMOs....
kudos bump
God Bless him.
Thank you for your prayers!
bttt
The benefit was a roaring success! The folks in our town are very generous.
Here's bit of news which I think deserves to be posted in bold:
Yesterday I learned that Jim served three tours of duty in Vietnam and was going to volunteer for a fourth, but his wife put her foot down and told him that three was all she could take.
He is doing poorly. Last night my mom sent a copy of this thread to Jim's wife.
I'll continue to post updates.
In the meantime, thanks so much again for all of your help and prayers.
Praying that Christ, our merciful Lord, will heal Jim White.
