O'Neil is taking Ted Koppel apart right now and Koppel is trying to keep him from talking. this is real good.

Maybe I should record. Been so long since I've seen Koppel I almost forget how to find him. LOL
O'Neill blew him away. He completely discredited "His Royal Smugness". Koppel now says he set te record straight. The crap is getting thicker by the minute.

Anyone with an ounce of intelligence will see Koppel's bias. Ted was asking O'Neal why peasants would offer a different story and O'Neal answered him. Because they are living in a society with "handlers" standing over their back controlling the situation. Obviously, Ted screwed up.
Yeah right, Ted would have reported the story either way. "We're in the business of reporting what we have learned, not concealing it." We must wonder why Ted didn't concentrate on the other important issues. Ted's a liar. He stubbornly ignored the written record of the Boston Globe, of John Kerry himself, and of the other American veterans.
Basically, Koppel asked O'Neill why he would not admit that a bunch of Vietnamese villagers could be right, saying there was a battle that day. The villagers could easily have been coerced to tell the story by the producers. They are literally peasants(cash). O'Neill referred to Kerry's own account of the incident disputing what Koppel's producers found. This of course was well in the works before the CBS incident came to light. Koppel ignored O'Neill's legit explanation and told Ted " You've been had"
ROFL!! He called Koppel out on the Commie support, huh? I love it! O'Neil, I love you! SMACKDOWN to Ted, ABC and Halperin! No network more deserving of one-tonight at any rate.

Ted Koppel is a pompous b*stard. What a complete jerk. He tried everything he could to stop John O'Neil from telling the truth. But, Koppel failed and O'Neil did another fantastic job. I just hope those idiot undecided voters have enough sense to see through Koppel.
Looks like it'll be on here in Texas in a minute. I can't wait to see this. O'Neil is soooooo good. His delivery of the truth is like impenetrable armor. I bet Koppel bounces off it with a concussion.

What a stupid question! How would O'Neill know what motives those Vietnamese have? How does anybody know that ABC is accurately reporting what they said? How does anybody know that their memories after 30 years are accurate? Why not look, as O'Neill says, at what Kerry HIMSELF has said? Why not interview the Swiftboat Vets instead of going halfway around the world to a Communist nation to find peasants to back up Kerry's story?
This is one of the lamest reports I've seen.

I especially liked the statement O'Neill made about Kerry being in Viet Nam Museum...basically saying that all people in Viet Nam KNOW WHO JOHN KERRY IS!

Wow Ted, there are 3 things and I'm just getting into my pajammas. Follow the money Ted. Simple.
I saw the interview with O'Neill and it was riveting. Koppel was hung up on what motives these villagers could have for lying. What an idiot. Gee, Ted, ya think that the COmmunist Vietnamese Government "Monitor" may have had every one of those villagers shot if they gave a wrong answer? Ya think that it was coincidence that every one you interviewed was an identified VC? Ya think it was really amazing that with the Vietnamese government's direction you were able to "find" two or three "eyewitnesses" who helpfully corroborated Kerry's story (but only in part)?
O'Neill was right on-- only a buffoon would find this reporting credible. O'Neill let him have it and Koppel had it coming. I also really enjoyed O'Neill's blasting Koppel for failing to cover any of the other stories in the book, finding one where (as O'Neill said) the SwiftVets only take some issue (as opposed to other stories such as the sampan incident).
It was truly great, I had a feeling that though we knew Koppel would try and set O'Neill up, that O'Neill would be ready. I sent a nasty email to Nightline. Everyone should write them and chastise them for their nasty treatment of a vet who was only trying to tell the truth.
