Ron Reagan: Why is Lynne Cheney so ashamed of her gay daughter—and shame on the conservatives and shame on Scarborough for trying to spin this against the Democrats because she is a gay woman and there‘s nothing wrong with that. Being a gay person, being a lesbian, is not a pejorative and there was nothing wrong with Kerry saying that. Maybe Lynne Cheney is a bad parent.

Why is John Kerry so ashamed of his wife? When asked about her he couldn't even find one nice thing to say about her. In fact, he had more positive things to say about Cheney's daughter than his own wife.

Kerry had plenty of other names he could have dropped to make a point or "humanize" the issue.

Those are two examples of what he COULD have said if the motive was merely to make a human-interest point. He did not, and it was a repeat from the Silky Pony's clearly calculated political move.
These people don't realize they don't have Clinton delivering these lines any more. He could have pulled it off, maybe. But even he is more transparent after 8 years of "Is".

And, interestingly enough, one of the guys the left love's to hate, Jerry Falwell, is going all out for Bush, and this in spite of any disagreement he may have over some of the social issues. He made that very plain in a recent interview on Fox News. So, if the left thinks of Falwell is the epitome of right-wing Christian fanatical bigots and that was their reason for going after Mary Cheney, it ain't working.
