RON REAGAN: Why is Lynne Cheney so ashamed of her gay daughter?
Scarborough Country ^ | Oct. 13, 2004 | Ronnie Reagan

Ron Reagan: Why is Lynne Cheney so ashamed of her gay daughter—and shame on the conservatives and shame on Scarborough for trying to spin this against the Democrats because she is a gay woman and there‘s nothing wrong with that. Being a gay person, being a lesbian, is not a pejorative and there was nothing wrong with Kerry saying that. Maybe Lynne Cheney is a bad parent.

I don't know, but I suspect the Gipper isn't too impressed by you, Ron.

That wasn't the question. The question was is being gay a choice. Only elitist, arrogant leftists would assume they could speak with authority on the intimate details and emotional landscapes of another person. It's a complete violation of her as an individual.

Boy, I would love to throttle that little fag!

Are we sure Ronald Reagan was his father? Was Nancy having an affair with Liberace or Rock Hudson the year Ron was born??

They offended their own base with this one, now glbt know they are welcome in the Cheney household.......'cause this bull about Lynne Cheney being ashamed is untrue. And their base is just put off by kerry's crass comments. skerry stepped in it big time, and some idiots like ronnyjr are more then happy to dance through it as well. Let 'em -- and the stink will stick till long after the election no matter how they try to clean this up.

I am ever amazed at the way the Democrats think!

Surely the American people see this skewed way of thinking - this vitriol that is supposed to pass for campaigning....

"I hate to say this, but Ron Reagan Jr. is not fit to bear his father's name."

Actually Ronnie-boy isn't a "Jr." since his middle name is Prescott and not Wilson. Still, the point is good; we should come up with a more appropriate name for this pipsqueak.

I can't either, Howlin. This is outrageous. To try to turn this into a Cheney parenting problem is the ultimate in hypocrisy and spin. I thought they couldn't possibly go any lower in the Kerry limbo contest. I was wrong.

Psst ... Little Ronnie is not a junior. His name is Ronald Prescott Reagan. President Reagan had a different middle name.

I stand corrected and am much appreciative for the enlightenment. Thanks!

I just refer to him as Ron Prescott. He is not even of shadow of his mighty father.

Excellent idea. I wholeheartedly concur.

MSNBC ought to fire that ballerina slug.

Agreed. The only reason they dug him up out of dog show duty was due to his name — and the fact that they thought he would irritate conservatives. Hah! We're not irritated. We're disgusted.

Thanks for pointing that out. Irish Queen has a great way of separating the boy from The Man; she refers to Ron Reagan as Ron Prescott. Very fitting indeed.

I don't particularly like Buchanan but I thought this exchange was hilarious.

BUCHANAN: Historically...

REAGAN: Two people who love each other...

BUCHANAN: ... marriage is between a man and a woman.

REAGAN: That‘s only because straight people didn‘t let gay people get married.

SCARBOROUGH: Ron.

REAGAN: That‘s why it‘s historically the case.

SCARBOROUGH: Ron Reagan, now let me tell you what the biggest...

REAGAN: Historically black people used to be owned by white people.

SCARBOROUGH: Ron Reagan, the biggest problem—

BUCHANAN: Thanks for straightening that out.

Every day that they persist on having Mary Cheney a "target" is another day I will call the local democratic headquarters and tell them my 2 cents worth.

How was she treated disrespectfully? Kerry was wrong to use her as an example, sure. That was tacky. But in the view of many people, he was defending Mary. You would have to know Mary's take on the "born that way" issue to know if it was offensive to her or not. Still, he just gave the standard gay activist line. It is based on junk science and that is where the debate should really be right now, instead of discussing Mary. But I do not see it as an attack, nor will the general public, imo. I've been debating with these people for years now. That is a defense in their view, not an attack. And Kerry and Co. have a point when they say that no one was outraged (except me) when Edwards brought up Mary. So what's a liberal to think? In their view, Kerry was defending Mary, albeit for selfish political gain.

Nose-Tackle? Now that's LOL funny. When she came on stage after the VP debate I heard someone said, "Hey I thought Chris Farley died".
