That's what I started thinking too. But as the debate went on something started to happen. Kerry began to look more and more like a robot. He promised everything. He had all the answers. It got kind of irritating. Meanwhile Bush was...real. There's no other way to describe it except that here was a person who wasn't phony, who wasn't trying to show off to get votes. His answer about his wife and kids really clinched it. Bush expressed great love...actually said that he loved his wife and daughters immensely. Meanwhile Kerry tells a story about his dying mother waving a finger at him and saying "Integrity, Integrity, integrity". That was so stupid and sad if true. Not once did Kerry mention that he loved his wife or kids. Sad.
But don't get me wrong.
As for John Kerry, he came prepared for the debate. And his royal smugness was front and center. The man has the personality of a door knob. Kerry will make any promise to get elected. That was part of the Clinton strategy in 1992 and throughout his Presidency. The influence of Carville, Begala and Lockhart are obvious in Kerry's endless attacks on Bush and his endless stream of promises.
