But don't get me wrong.
As for John Kerry, he came prepared for the debate. And his royal smugness was front and center. The man has the personality of a door knob. Kerry will make any promise to get elected. That was part of the Clinton strategy in 1992 and throughout his Presidency. The influence of Carville, Begala and Lockhart are obvious in Kerry's endless attacks on Bush and his endless stream of promises.
You're so right. Tonight's rigid podium debate isn't GW's style. Kerry comes prepared, but he has to defend a lousy personal record. That aside, he does indeed have the personality of a doorknob, and add to that, a complete and utter lack of that integrity his mother worried about on her deathbed, well, he's damaged goods at best. Against him, we have GW, who mangles the English language more often than not, but goodness and integrity shine from him like an inner light. You can't mistake it. Truly a matchup of opposites, and Americans aren't stupid. They won't go for Kerry, but voter fraud is a definite worry. Now we hold our breath for the next two and a half weeks.
