I've taken this thing twice now, and I keep ending up near Gerhard Schroder. The questions are stupid. Either that or I must be a much more nuanced crazed, libertarian, right-winger than I ever imagined.

I cannot accept this test as valid: no option for an indifferent attitude to a topic and oversimplified questions.

As to the UK political parties, it's all wrong altogether: the LibDems are way too far to the right, while they are in fact are quite a bit to the left, the New Labour is, in fact, quite a bit to the left (apart from Tony Blair), and Tories are not that far to the right either. I'd like to know where those guys get the stuff they seem to be on, it must be pretty good.

But I'm more libertarian than that, and some of the questions just plain sucked:

No one chooses their country of birth, so it's foolish to be proud of it.

Proud of their country, or proud of being born there? Two vastly different things.

Those with the ability to pay should have the right to higher standards of medical care.

More money doesn't give you a *right* to anything, but you should be free to spend it on the best care you can find.

A same sex couple in a stable, loving relationship, should not be excluded from the possibility of child adoption.

Not in the sense that it should be illegal -- if the birth parent(s) want some gay couple to adopt their child, the state has no business forbidding it; but that doesn't mean that the state should regard homosexuals as fit parents for purposes of placing children.
