I swear to God I thought after 9/11 we would shut down the border - Bush would be 60% in the polls now.
Suppose the report proves true - terrorists entered via Arizona - and President Bush of course did not improve border control --- the blame will adhere to him forever. A nightmare in the making....
That was my very first thought as well. We got just about everything else except this. Okay, I know many here disagree about trying to control our own borders. I know the president has said he doesn't think it's possible.
I don't understand how we believe we can turn Iraq into a "democracy" but we believe controlling our own borders from this on-going invasion is "impossible."

I agree completely, been saying this for two years. We would have ended up with even MORE of the hispanic vote than we will anyway, because many of the hispanics currently in America, who have been here for a while, are troubled by illegal immigration which threatens their jobs and security. This issue is the pretty much the only Bush policy that I cannot defend when challenged. It was such a no-brainer, and Bush's geniuses like Rove blew the call and might have blown a very important election.

Exactly.
