The Democrats go crying to the FCC because of three reasons 1.) the 62 SBG stations are in battleground states, 2.) They don't want people to know the truth about John Kerry and 3.) See reasons 1 and 2.
Linda Vester just did a great piece on this. Sinclair has offered Kerry or someone from his campaign the opportunity to respond to the documentary, but it seems they are declining the offer. Truth is, they don't have a response! So their only option is to try and keep this off the air.

Yet they have no problems with an anchor usurping the airwaves to read a list of the casualties in Iraq, which was obviously politically motivated.
The FCC is in dire need of an overhaul. They should only license wavelength so that signals don't compete. What is done with those wavelengths should be decided by the market and a free people.
