Copps is a Hollings protege, Clinton appointee for all 8 years of that administration and life-long democrat partisan. This is nothing but unseemly grandstanding on his part.

This "complaint" to the FCC will all come to nothing.

One of the FCC Commissioners: Michael J. Copps , most recently served as President Clinton's Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Trade Development 1998-2001 and as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Basic Industries under Clinton, 1993-1998. Served for 15 years with Democrat Sen. Fritz Hollings (SC) in several positions including Chief of Staff.

Michael J. Copps has been in bed with the Clintons for at least a decade. Just another reason to pass a bill that any holdover from GS 7 and up must submit a letter to the president with their resignation on the letter if the President wants it, to each president as that president is sworn in. Then, when they do bs like this, their letter resignation becomes effective ASAP.

Uh, Mr. FCC Man, how about when an entire network news division is biased, and broadcasts blatant falsehoods out of poitical partisanship?

so... Michael J. Copps, you speak for the ENTIRE FCC?

Isn't that like the FEC where it is a 50/50 mix of dems and
republicans? why should we care what ONE member says?

Don't former POW's have a right to speak?

Why shouldn't POW's be allowed to speak on an issue they feel is very important to them, AS LONG AS KERRY IS ALLOWED A REASONABLE TIME FOR REBUTTAL?

The demonRATS have the MSM to do their bidding, and the timidity of Republicans keeps them from playing hardball with the FCC.

I've always wondered about the FCC.

An Italian inventor, Guglielmo Marconi, discovers he can use electricity to send an intelligible signal wirelessly across great distances. Entrepreneurs begin working on commercial applications of the newly discovered technology. And the government calls them in, telling them "We own those waves in the air ... what do you call them .. uhh radio waves? Right. We own those things. They're ours, all right. We always have owned them. You can only use them if we give you permission to use OUR waves, whatever they are."

What exactly does 'eneumerated powers' mean?

OMG, they are all in this together! Does he care about the obvious flooding of the airwaves with totally biased so called news by the networks? Heck no! Jerk.

Anti-Kerry Film Causes Stir
Tuesday, October 12, 2004
By J. Jennings Moss

"NEW YORK — Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign blasted a decision by the Sinclair Broadcast Group (search) to air a documentary on Kerry's anti-Vietnam War activism, but a Sinclair official vowed to move forward Tuesday.

The flap is over a one-hour program — "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal (search)" — featuring former prisoners of war accusing Kerry, a decorated veteran who took up the anti-war cause upon returning from Vietnam, of prolonging the war and worsening their plight.

"If anybody has earned the right to speak about their experiences in Vietnam, it's these men," Sinclair Vice President Mark Hyman (search) told FOX News. "They suffered unspeakable horrors. They earned the right to be heard."

The program likely will be broadcast between Oct. 21 and Oct. 24, depending on the city. According to Sinclair's Web site, the company has some connection to 62 stations from all the broadcast networks — FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS, UPN and the WB — in 39 markets and reaches 24 percent of U.S. television households."

Stick to your guns, Mr. Hyman!!!

I agree that the FCC should ban Sinclair from airing anything that may be ANTI-KERRY. . .
just as soon as they shut down NBC, ABC, & especially CBS for being anti-Bush!

Copps should be fired for that clearly partisan statement -- it is abuse of office.

If Copps were consistent and fair he'd have revoked CBS's broadcast license.

How is it and "anti-Kerry show" just to have Vietnam Vets tell their stories?

Bush, after he wins reelection, should FIRE this bureaucratic pinhead WITHOUT his pension.

I hate government bureaucrats.

Did Copps have anything to say about Robert Redford turning over his Sundance Channel to five hours of the anti-Bush hatefest, "Concert for Change" (Springsteen, James Taylor et al), last night?

And what do they call 60 Minutes? First, they air the Bush-bash-book du jour ( Joe Wilson, Paul O'Neill, Bob Woodward, et al ). Then they publish anti-Bush ANG service story based on fraudulent documents. Where was this FCC member then?
