Anyone know when the new Gallup poll will be out? I'm not sure what to make of their results anyway since they have been all over the map. I am just curious.

Yes, I needed this today. I've been feeling much perkier since the Friday night debate but this just made my day.

I was REALLY down in the dumps since the first debate but now I'm bouncing back.

Does anyone know who IPSOS, of the AP-IPSOS poll is? They are so far out of whack with the rest of the polls, it's unbelievable. Is IPSOS a 'rat front of some sort?

Not quite. They use the same sample data but today they had different results.

From WaPo Politics page:
"The Post and ABC News collect data jointly but are responsible for developing their own methods to identify likely voters. This may produce slightly different estimates of candidate support. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points for registered and likely voters, and slightly larger for subsamples. Sampling error is only one of many potential sources of error in this or any other public opinion poll. Interviewing was conducted by TNS of Horsham, Pa. "

5 point lead. If this holds up or solidifies after the final debate Wednesday, we can start thinking about 2008. Whooooooo-hah!!!!

Polls suffer from many weaknesses, but a trend across a range of polls is reliable. Polls cannot reliably predict last minute events or measure voter turnout on election day; and even exit polls on election day are subject to the effects of small errors in modeling or execution.

In 2000, Florida was saved (barely) for Bush by heads up ball play in which the Bush campaign put additional GOTV telephone calls into Florida despite reports of exit polls that showed Gore winning the state by 20,000 votes. The Bush campaign learned that there was a flaw in those exit polls and took the gamble of betting against their accuracy.

Cubans were under sampled in that media exit poll, a crucial oversight due to exile anger over Elian's forced return to Cuba at Castro's behest. Supposedly, the exit poll manager decided not to go to the expense of separately sampling and reporting Cuban voters because they were considered to be reliably modeled as part of the general Hispanic component. And but for Clinton's coziness with Castro and a little Cuban boy who survived a desperate raft trip that his mother did not, the exit poll would have been correct and Gore would have become President.

I feel so much better right now but let's not get over-confident. Remember that we are dealing with the shameless, no morals Democratic Party and their Weasel grease-bucket Terry McAuliffe. They will do anything to tear Bush down. I pray that W. does great in Tempe, Az trhis Wednesday...he has to hit Kerry over the head for his anti-Gulf War vote in 1991 and his interview with the NY Slimes about terrorists being a "nuisance". Kerry is not fit for command! And wait a day or two, the Swift Boat veterans have something up their sleeves...Hannity will announce it tomorrow.

"those at a sKerry one seem to look like they just got paid and want to leave early and spend the money?"

The one Kerry rally I freeped,(Akron) they really literally were leaving early. I arrived in the middle of his speech, and so many people were walking away, Kerry signs in hand, I thought I had missed the whole thing!

In comparison, hundreds of us waited for a couple hours outside a school to simply see Bush's motorcade and wave at him! And despite a few babykillers from NewYork who came to act ugly, we were in great spirits.

Kerry doesn't wear well; wait till after the final debate,Kerry will lose another point or two.

He's just too damn ugly to look on TV every day for four years. IMO

was estimated that 1.5% of 2000 votes were fraudulant..assuming that 100% of fraud is instigated in favor of the dummies (not altogether accurate) and estimating a increase of 25% (which is one helluva lot of votes) in 2004 = 2%
