Folks,

Rasmussen showed a reversal of erosion last week. It is probably not due to any event at all. It is just support coming home.

However.

Do not think this is all fine. Rasmussen's absolute numbers mean nothing. He uses the 2000 VNS exit poll data to lock down his partisan mix and That May Not Be Accurate This Year. Also, more ominous, by locking down that mix he cannot detect any change in registration ratio this year from the big Dem registration surge.

All Rasmussen will detect is delta, and he does that very very well. Bush will have a good week upcoming and his campaign should consider cancelling the last debate, but probably won't.

There was a thread last night showing how to travel to a battleground state in the final 72 hrs to help GOTV. Find it, do your very best to do it. If we don't win, you will feel horrible for four years knowing you did not do everything you could.

We're doomed.. I do have a question was there the usual doom and gloomers here last night??

i am not a usual doomer and gloomer as say, like COURAGE and CHURCHILLBUFF... however, alonge with the likes of JORGE, i was very down last week during and after GW's performance in debate 1... i could not get over the "fact" that he did so poorly...

i stayed away from last night's debate... about half-way through, my husband called me to tell me Bush was doing well... i returned home at about 7:50, logged onto to FR and felt much better... i then went on to Demo Under and knew Bush did well...

it's weird, i know, but i cannot tell you how last week's debate shaped my week... i just did not have a strong enough stomach to sit through last night's debate... this is my first post regarding the second debate (which i finally saw on CSPAN)...

"*'absolutely' pledged not to raise taxes on anyone earning less than $200,000 annually, a pledge that even his most ardent admirers know is either a bald lie or a repudiation of most of his spending plans"

No disrespect to the first President Bush, who's situation was entirely different because he was coming off a successful war and his first term, but Kerry's "promise" was SOOOOO "read my lips" I was surprised the pundits didn't jump all over it.

Another of Kerry's flubs was when he said he helped negotiate the Kyoto treaty, was IN Kyoto, trashed Bush for trashing Kyoto and then said Kyoto was flawed. So he was FOR Kyoto before being against it before being for it again.

Real women like real men...trust me on this.. men with swagger conjure up virile and potent swimmers (if you catch my drift). To put it simply, would rather have strong swimmers..or limp-wristed swimmers looking for a home?

Okay, so 80% of those 5% polled after the dabate changed over to voting for Bush.....this gives him about a 2% jump. I guess tomorrow Bush will be at 80%??????

I would not be surprised to see it stay the same tomorrow, but not much higher.

We all know that weekend polling favors the violent party.

My guess is that Wednesday morning will be the best test.

Bush just has to be a cool cucumber and stay on course for a few more weeks...

Plus get plenty of rest and prep for the next debate.

RasmussenReports.com

October 7, 2004 The latest Rasmussen Reports Electoral College projection shows George W. Bush with 240 Electoral Votes and John Kerry with 169. There are now eleven states with 129 Electoral Votes in the Toss-Up category.

Today, we are moving Florida from Toss-Up Status to Leans Bush. In our daily Tracking Poll provided to Premium Members, Bush has been ahead by at least five percentage points for five of the last six days. In our last publicly released Florida survey, the President was up by four percentage points.

Last week, before the Presidential debate, three states moved from Leans Kerry to Toss-Up (Michigan, New Jersey and Maryland). Since that time, the polls in some states have drifted back towards the Democrat. But, none have moved enough at the moment to shift out of Toss-Up status.

The 240 Electoral Votes projected for Bush is his highest total of the year. He has been at 213 since the Republican National Convention.

I wonder how much of this is due to Cheney's evisceration of Edwards on Tuesday.

I still wish Bush had knocked it out of the park last week. Goodness knows Kerry gave him enough opportunities. The first debate usually has the largest audience.

I fear this one is going down to the wire. I expect if it is close, with Kerry lagging slightly, the Democrats will react like cornered dogs, with an ugly October surprise. I just hope the Swifties or the RNC has a tactical nuke waiting just in case.

Slim,
What WAS that timber tycoon thing about, anyway? We were so busy saying "HUH??" that we missed a bit of it. Did Kerry say that Bush earned 84 Dollars from wood?

Wanna buy some wood?

"I'm open to any good news. Go Bush Go!"

Almost all the news is good today: yesterday's debate polls, today's Rasmussen tracking poll, Australian election victory, Afghan elections, maybe closing in on butcher Zaqwari.

I'm still elated from last night...

..but they can't mess with the real polls.

No, that's left up to the 'skewing sauce' people.

I'll admit it's good to see good Bush numbers but stay alert and go like yer 5 points down!
