You're exactly right. The north eastern part of NM is heavily RAT infested. There's a lot of them where I live too, and I'm in the north western part of the state, close to the AZ border.

Santa Fe, Galisteo, Tesuque, etc. are infested with educated people. Whack jobs, I call them.
Opera, art and liberal politics.
Rest of NM is not so bad, though.

Right now I live at Albuquerque but hope to move to rural west Texas before I get too old and feeble. It's tough though to get my wife away from our two grandbabies at Albuquerque. Me too I guess.
