Bill O'Reilly suggested today on his radio show that President Bush should apologize at the Presidential debate Friday for no Iraq WMD. If the President Bush did this in the way that O'Reilly wants him to, the President would be making a major gaffe. I could see the sound bites. President Bush has NOTHING TO APOLOGIZE FOR. Also, O'Reilly says that Bush has to clearly win Friday or it’s over. He keeps on saying that the race is tied. IMHO, O'Reilly is spinning on several fronts: At the very least he is trying to get Kerry on his show, so he is pandering. The Electoral College Polls shows the President with a sizable lead. National Polls mean little. O'Reilly knows if the President says I am sorry for Iraq it would be political suicide. Again, think of the soundbite the Democrats would have. This would help Kerry. The President on Friday night needs to address Kerry’s record and recent Global Test statements. So why O’Reilly on his radio program the day before the Presidential debates is highlighting the Iraq WMD instead of focusing on Kerry’s record? He is doing this because that’s the only hope Kerry has. If O’Reilly was really a no spinner and WAS LOOKING OUT FOR YOU he would have STRESSED SUBSTANCE OVER STYLE and endorsed President Bush after Kerry’s Global Test and other policy statements after the last debate. So deep down, O'Reilly is rooting for Kerry. The latest Iraq WMD report clearly shows t that Saddam’s endgame was to get the Sanctions lifted and then restart his WMD programs. According to the report, SADDAM WANTED NUCLEAR WEAPONS!! It’s the intent. That’s why Saddam had to be removed form power. I also, believe that the WMD were moved into other countries, like Syria.
Then why does he support Bush and Cheney in the war on terrorism????

I'm not so sure that Oreilly has a LIBERAL mentality. I think it has more to do with him trying to appear unbiased. In the process of doing this, the truth is buried underneath all of that liberal mumbo jumbo and people such as us FReepers are turned off by it.

I heard a few minutes of his show today. O'Reilly is getting stupider and stupider if there is such a word. He said Kerry has to come on his show if he wants him to vote for him. As if O'Reilly hasn't made up his mind and needs a personal interview. He said that there will be those that even if he come son his show, they will never respect Kerry and that those people are kooks.
Anyone who hasn't made up their mind by now is stupid or ignorant or both.
I have stopped watching Bill O'Reilly. In fact, the only people worth listening to on Fox News are John Gibson and Brit Hume. Anyone know what O'Reilly's ratings are now? I'll bet they will be tanking soon!
What O'Reilly really wants is for Bush to personally apologize to him because he promised to buy dinner for that big mouth female liberal comedian (what's her name?) if WMD's weren't found. He had to eat crow and now he's mad and wants Bush to eat crow.
Message to BO...row up O'Reilly. EVERYONE thought Sadam had WMD, and I'm still not willing to concede he didn't. In 20 years the historians may know the truth about Iraqs WMDs. We don't the truth now and probably won't know anytime soon.

I don't watch him any more I only watch him when the president was on. I stopped a long time ago. He's gotten too big headed. He acts like he owns Fox.
I remember back 1995 when Bill first started. He was much better than he is now. He has gotten a little bit to self-absorbed and weak.
He used to take people on and if they were lying he would back them into the corner. THE SPIN used to stop there.
Now he allows people to spin and lie.
It is really too bad. I used to enjoy his show. Now it is Larry King “lite”,
As far as apologizing, O’Reilly is off his rocker.
The president is the Commander and Chief. He made a decision based on the information he had at the time. He has nothing to apologize for. Decisions are made and you live with them. Apologizing would embolden the enemy, Kerry, and do tremendous damage to troop morale. Not to mention the memory of the fallen.
I absolutely refuse to watch him.
The invasion was to enforce the terms of Saddam's surrender in the Persian Gulf war, as specified in the the seventeenth UN resolution. The burden of proof regarding WMD was on Saddam, not on the coalition. There was every reason to believe he had WMD stockpiles, but that was not really the point. The point was that with a powerful oil economy he could get them, and gave every indication that he not only would do that, but would not be shy about handing them off to surrogates that would be only to happy to detonate them in U.S. cities.
It's quite shameful that the Ministry of Information for the Democratic party, aka the establishment media, have succeeded in deluding most of the country and the world on this point.
Or as another poster put it, "O'Reilly is an aging, old media ratings whore."
