Heads up: Great post-debate coverage on MSNBC - pundits trashing Edwards...
And the sad thing is that there are a lot of people like her. In my area, Kerry-Edwards tickets are everywhere.
Right ... I saw that. Cheney said THE TRUTH. This was no contradiction. What Cheney implied though was winning in Iraq struck a blow against terrorism. What Cheney and Bush have failed to do is draw a distinction that says:
"LOOK, you keep talking about connections to 9/11 ... 9/11 was a terrible and horrific attack. But it is not the only terrorist attack. we were attacked in 1996 Khobar towers, Cole, Embassy bombing, Achille Lauro, and since 911 we've had Madrid, Bali, Istanbul, Beslan ... We declared war - not on Al Qaeda, not on the 9/11 hisjacker, but on the WHOLE GLOBAL TERRORIST THREAT. And to attack that threat, rip it up, and remove it, you have to go after those rogue regimes, like Saddam Hussein's that aided, trained, sponsored, and harbored those global terrorists. Saddam Hussein did those things.
And that is just ONE good reason why removing him from power was the right thing to do.
Or, you can just checkout: Saddam's Files: New evidence of a link between Iraq and al Qaeda.
Brian William is going to PLAY the "Contradiction" now
And cut off his saying there is a connection to terror!
GEOGRAPHIC BASE ...
that's about as strong as this "link" gets.
She's a Newsweek babe. Can't seem to catch her name. Here comes the MTP clip.
No, moron, he didn't get to me. But there are lots of women like that Newsweak chick who fell for BG's charms. Wake up to reality.
"It all depends on what the meaning of the words direct-link is".
Brian Williams has either terrible makeup or terrible lighting or both.
I can ***ALMOST*** guarantee you that in that same discussion, Cheney made it clear that he is not saying that Sadaam was actually connected to 9/11.
And now Ron Regan blabbing... UHHHHGH
CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING: It's 9/11, planes have hit the Twin Towers. Thousands of planes are in the air. You just receive a report that a plane is heading for Washington, coming in low and fast. Cut to the underground bunker at the White House. Question: Who do you want to see "in command" at the bunker? Cheney or Edwards. Enough said.
I agree. This MTP smoking gun video bs on MSNBC is bs.
The MSM is totally misrepresenting that sound bite.
Did you get that clip as Cheney saying that there was a link between Hussein and 9-11?
What am I missing here?
Yes, but I guess when a slim thread is all you have, you hang on even tighter.
Good Lord, they are still selling it!
Scarborough: I'm basically dismissing every Edwards voter.
Uh, someones spinning here.
He was every bit this frighteningly green would-be VP that Dan Quayle was excoriated for being. Little Johnny Edwards has as much gravitas as a smilie-faced helium balloon.
Paraphrasing. He said in Iraq we made direct hits against terrorists, including "those who struck a blow at us on 9/11." Can someone correct me or provide a transcript of the MTP BS?
Here's the quote:
Vice President Richard Cheney on Al-Qaeda:
"If we're successful in Iraq, if we can stand up a good representative government in Iraq, that secures the region so that it never again becomes a threat to its neighbors or to the United States, so it's not pursuing weapons of mass destruction, so that it's not a safe haven for terrorists, now we will have struck a major blow right at the heart of the base, if you will, the geographic base of the terrorists who have had us under assault now for many years, but most especially on 9/11."
Source: Meet the Press, NBC (9/14/2003).
And here is their explanaion:
Explanation This statement is misleading because it states that Iraq is the "heart" of the geographic base for terrorists who assaulted the United States on September 11, despite the fact that intelligence officials do not have evidence that Iraq was linked to the September 11 attack.
