I think the key here is the Edwards is not bedrock. This is just like aikido. If you find his center of gravity, and you also probe and find his weak points, you can "flip" him. Edwards is starting to unravel. Conversely, Cheney is probing and finding those weak points. When Breck dishes the crap out, Cheney shovels it right back into his face--and then some, leaving him looking like a dork in response.
