I'm watching the debate on the Internet over my morning coffee with some of my students at the school I teach at in Japan.
A student just pointed out that Edwards is wearing a Japanese flag lapel pin. I doubt he is- but online the quality ain't great. To those with a TV, what is that pin he's wearing? Don't look like Old Glory to me...

It doesn't appear to be a flag - definitely not old glory.
I'm thinking it might be his 'Senator's pin', but not sure.
His son died in a single-occupant car accident when he was 16, and Edwards started a foundation in his name. Some on this thread have said that the pin is of that Foundation.
