Breakfast is NOT a job!

It will be in a few months when Edwards is working at IHOP.

Edwards may have been implying that but Sesame Street was not around till about 1969; Slightly past Edwards's childhood years.

I was laughing my butt off listening to this trial lawyer talk tort reform. That's a joke, this guy got rich off abusing the system and accepting money from his lawyer lobbyist friends to continue to vote against tort reform as a congressman. When he was talking about curbing frivolous lawsuits, not having redundant struck-down cases, and having cases reviewed by panels that can strike down the frivolous ones, his lawyer pals were probably mad as hell. Not to worry, all he has to do is go back to Washington, let them wine & dine him some more, and he'll continue to vote the way of the trial lawyers. Edwards got rich off abusing the legal system, he's not going to bite the hand that feeds him so well.

Cheney ate Edwards' lunch! Listening to Edwards talking like a hawk was too funny. And he sure as hell couldn't explain why he and Kerry voted for war in Iraq, then voted against funding it. That sure puts the smack on their "We support the troops and will give them what they need" line.

The 'Kerry flips' guy on the left looks like Jerad from the Subway commercials. I'm not making fun of the guy, but that is who he looks like (to me).

Cheney Ruled.

Im sure its been mentioned, but when Edwards ran with Ifils mistake by going out of turn then laughed and admitted he knew it wasnt his turn by saying "Oh, you realized your mistake hahahha"..

Well, that showed that he is dishonest and knew it wasnt his turn but would take advantage of her mistake anyway.
Which raises the question of what else was he dishonest about?
Note that Cheney went out of his way to be fair to Edwards early on.

That, and Cheneys closing statements Are what stuck out most to me.

Mill working tv math lessons? How corny and irrelevant to our national security.

I heard about the prayer breakfast meeting this morning when Edwards' giggling daughter was telling E.D Hill (the female bill o'reilly) how her mom went up to Cheney and corrected him about meeting Edwards. I think VP Cheney was driving home the point he never met Edwards at any of the Intelligence meetings, something a little more important.

.........it must be tiring being that smart......

Not really. These are things that have only been repeated numerous times here at FR, but some people are too busy trying to be smartasses to pay attention.

I conclude it because that's what you're obviously doing.

Spare me your raised eyebrows and spin.

I think she made a few mistakes, like forgetting the round and letting John Edwards start a comment. However, I agree with you totally. That was okay because Cheney could handle it. He looked great and he sounded great. I don't know where the polls aer coming from saying Edwards looked more in control and more poised. Cheney looked fantastic. And it was good of Gwen IFill to give him tough questions. Because he came across like a winner.

I have left the TV and come to see the FReepers. DH and I were cheering at some points; Cheney definitely hit some HOME RUNS there. Great debate. He really did ride that little pony!

Yes, Cheney spanked Pretty Boy like a "4 year old at K-Mart." Now all we need to do is have President Bush ride The Horse(face) Kerry.

I don't see any eye contact there. Did Edwards ever tap Cheney on the shoulder and introduce himself?" .....Polybius

What a dumb comment - does that very instance captured in the picture represent everything that happened before or after? The correct criticism should be that the event was a minor social event (Prayer Breakfast) and does nothing to take away from the VP's criticism of Edwards never bothering to show up to do his job. Breakfast is NOT a job!.....4MORE-YEARS

"What a dumb comment.....The correct criticism should be" ?

Aren't you full of yourself .

Your "correct criticism" seems to be a really "dumb" way to give the opposition the ammunition of being able to say, "Aha! Cheney lied. He did meet Edwards! And now he even admits it!!"

Unless a "minor social event" is a small dinner party at someone's house where everybody is immediately introduced to everybody else, there may be 30 strangers mingling around in a room for one hour and, at the end of the event, 15 of them may have never "met" each other.

The individuals in the room who never "meet" each other are the individuals who spend the entire hour with their backs turned towards each other and never once make eye contact.

The photo in question has Cheney with his eyes closed in prayer and with his back turned towards Edwards.

Does that constitute "meeting" Edwards?

No.

If Edwards had showed up in the same room with Cheney more than twice in 3 1/2 years, would Edwards have increased his chances of actually "meeting" Cheney?

Yes.
