What will the October surprise be?

Conventional wisdom now holds that both the Bush/Cheney and the Kerry/Edwards campaigns have planned surprises in order to shake the race in their favor this month. What could those surprises be? Here are some suggestions, are there any others?

Bush surprises for Kerry: 1) Bush meets with Allawi in Baghdad 2) Questions arise over Kerry's and Edwards's taxes

Kerry surprises for Bush: 1) Allegations that Bush got a girl pregnant and talked her into an abortion in the early 70's

I keep hearing this rumor of Kerry urinating and/or burning a flag video. Have you heard of this from any reputable source yet? I have heard both Sean and Rush mention that the Swiftees have a big ad coming out in October and I'm wondering if it is something like that. If that is the case, then this election is over!

That would fit in with an analysis I heard on the radio of why Edwards dwelt so much on Cheney's gay daughter. That it's a wink-and-nudge message to southern democrats that the Republicans have some of 'those' in their families, so you better not vote for them.

I listened to a few minutes of the morning gang on KSFO (Oakland, SF) and the statement was made that the Swift Vets have an ad that will totally stop the Kerry campaign dead. They were to vote on running the ad I think, today or tomorrow. Lets us hope and pray.

If true, it would not change my vote. I know several people who (regretfully) had abortions when they were younger and are now some of the most pro-life people I know.

I'm pretty clued in and what I've heard is that the ad will list the 32 questions Kerry must answer. Powerful, but not enough (yet) to stop the Kerry campaign.

I don't know their source. Melanie Morgan on the morning team claims to be clued into the Swift Boat Vets with a excellent source. As I stated she was claiming it will stop the Kerry campaign dead in its tracks. Guess we will just have to wait and see.
