Let them spin, but actual votes on the floor will go a long way towards minimizing it.

And if none of them vote for it? Other than maybe Crazy Charlie and his sidekicks? If it attracts more Republican votes in committee than Democrat votes on the floor how is that going to minimize it?

If you cannot understand how allowing it to be voted on in the House aids the Republicans, I give up.

The Committe doesn't vote to authorize the draft. They only vote to allow a vote on the draft. It is obvious to anyone with half a brain why Republicans would vote to hold a vote. It is the same reason they want to hold a vote on flag burning. Dems can spin it however they like but at the end of the day the news will be the Dems sponsered the bill, and the Republican controlled House soundly defeated it.

Everytime afterwards when the draft is brought up, we say the Democrat sponsered bill was defeated in the House by Republicans. Case Closed.
