She paid $587,000 in estimated federal income taxes for 2003, and $162,777 in estimated state and local income taxes. In addition, in April she paid $280,000 towards expected additional 2003 and 2004 federal tax liability.

Based upon the information received to date concerning her investments, her advisers estimate that in 2003, Mrs. Heinz Kerry had gross taxable income of approximately $2,338,000, consisting primarily of dividends and interest, and tax exempt interest income of approximately $2,777,000 from state, municipal and other public entity bonds

With the next Presidental debate topics sure to include tax rates of the rich and paying our fair share, what did Mrs. Heinz Kerry pay? Only $587,000 on income of $5,115,000 (some tax exempt) or 11.7% Donald Luskin says "If John Kerry wins the presidency, his household will be the richest ever to occupy the White House. Kerry's wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, controls a vast fortune estimated by a Los Angeles Times study to fall somewhere between $900 million to $3.2 billion" $5,115,000 is a minimum rate of return of only .05%! http://www.nationalreview.com/nrof_luskin/luskin200407140830.asp

And get groomed.

If I only got a .5% rate of return, I would be very displeased. Methinks something is fishy in milady's accounts.

Anyone in here work for the IRS? I say an audit is called for. Think of the over-time available.

Teresa Heinz Kerry is either the biggest fool on the planet for hiring incompetent investment advisers, or is using (possibly legal) tax advantaged structures to hide her income. Because she refuses to release her full tax returns, I'm guessing the latter.

Bush should not bring this up specifically in the dabate but he should pound hard on the fact that you can't raise taxes on the rich beause they can afford shelters. Then, afer the debates the Republicans need to run ads about Tereysas 11% tax rake, juxtaposed against whatever Kerry says about raising taxes on the rich. It's like the Kennedy's voting against school vouchers then sending their kids to private schools.

Except that if Kerry is going to talk about raising taxes, and then his wife is turning around and sheltering hers while the rest of us get a tax hike, it is a very valid issue to point out. How is it Kerry insists the rich should be taxed more while his own family is paying a smaller percentage of their income than the average middle income taxpayer?

They dont pay taxes, the income earners do.

Exactly.

Teresa Heinz could not care less about income taxes.

Teresa Heinz inherited her $550 million fortune at the time of her husband's death tax free. John Kerry married into that $550 million fortune after her husband's death tax free.

There is no spousal inheritance tax and there is no gigolo tax.

Income taxes apply to individuals who produce income. However, the parasitic super-rich such as John Kerry and Teresa Heinz produce very little income themselves as a percentage of their total wealth. Therefore, even a 95% income tax would not affect their lifestyles in the least. At the end of the day, they are still sitting on top of 550 million tax free dollars.

A 100% income tax on Kerry's $154,700 per year U.S. Senate salary comes out as 0.028 percent of the Heinz-Kerry total wealth.

For a family that has a net worth of $200,000 in savings and home equity, that is the equivalent of 56 bucks.

The Kerrys and Kennedys will gladly trade the minuscule amount of their total wealth lost to increasing income taxes in order to label a $200,000 a year, two-income couple as "The Rich" in order to demagogue the votes of the least productive members of society into political power for themselves.

If she calls her Gulfstream V a business asset she can depreciate it in against her income giving her a nice fat write-off. Don't know the schedule but would love to see her returns. Not an accountant, but slept in a Holiday Inn Express. Bet she has some offshore write-offs too. Whatcha hiding Dingbat??

sure...why is Kerry's wife not paying her fair share in taxes? Wait, what you say? We don't know if she is or not? ALl the reproting could be hearsay? Well, Got an even better deal..Heinz-Kerry can omit her returns for public scrutiny, and Kerry himself can sign SF180...

Me thinks their both lying trolls..

Speaking of trolls, fatty...
