This editorial was mentioned on the Sunday Morning Talk Show Thread. I searched using "endorsement" and didn't see it posted.

Who would have thought a newspaper in MA would endorse President Bush?

There are plenty of conservatives in Mass. Just not in Boston. Two, three max.

Wouldn't it be nice if we got the endorsement of the NYTimes ?
Alas, not in our lifetimes....

The Boston Herald, the anti-Boston Globe, endorsed Bushie in 2000. One of their key columnists, Howie Carr, has a daily radio show in Boston. He constantly bashes Kerry, Kennedy and that ilk.

Cool. I love him describing Kerry as naive- that is exactly the right word.

Who would have thought a newspaper in MA would endorse President Bush?

Honestly, if I lived in Massachusetts, and my elected US Senator had the abysmal attendance at voting while on the job that sKerry has, there's no way I would vote to advance him to a real position of authority...I wouldn't even vote to return him to the Senate.

I believe President Bush will win Massachusetts! There are no signs for Kerry anywhere. Even the dems running for reelection locally are not putting Kerry signs with their signs. Trust me very unusual for MA.

Lowell, MA, veterans held a recent event and invited Nuancyboy, who didn't bother to show up or even send an 'gee, I'm sorry, I'm busy, but here's my gofer to say a few words on my behalf'. The vets called Kerry's office and let him have it, and then they called the paper, which ran a big piece on Kerry's arrogant rudeness. You have to say one thing about Fat Teddy, his office staff is on the ball. When he gets an invite, they reply and somebody shows up or you know the reason why. So this endorsement makes perfect sense.

According to www.WhereToDoResearch.com, at least five major newspapers in Massachusetts endorsed Bush in 2000. The Boston Herald, the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, the Lawrence Eagle Tribune, the Patriot Ledger and the Lowell Sun. That doesn't necessarily translate into 2004 endorsements but so far at least one has; hopefully, the others will follow.

Quarantine the terrorists. Bush's plan is brilliant but can't be loudly touted. The last thing he wants to do is say "Look all these terrorists are serving themselves up for slaughter and containment." The little lightbulb might go off in the terrorist head, "We been had!". It's too bad Democrats (and the MSM) are so lame and blinded by ambition that they can't see the positive side to Bush's plan. BTW, with the control of Afghanistan and Iraq, Iran is surrounded and can be easily squished.

Yes, we do lose good men and women in this process. They are the freedom fighters, fighting to keep us free from the car bombs, bus bombs, cafe bombs and truck bombs that terrorists use in their murder schemes. Our country will not come under a sustained attack by terrorists again with George Bush as President.

This is not surprising. The Lowell Sun has hated Kerry for 30 years.

...we believe [Kerry's] the wrong man, in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

Yes.

Kerry's rarely where he's supposed to be...in his Senate seat.

Thanks for posting this beacon of sanity in the midst of the media madness over Kerry "winning" the debate.

My fellow freepers you would be surprized at how many people know and think Kerry is a phoney up here in Mass.
He gets booed st fenway pahk for crissakes.
Even sports talk radio cna't stand him.
The race is a lot closer amongst everyday people than you think.

Being a native of MA (now living in AZ) I was so happy to read this outstanding endorsement and thank you very much. Using the paper's e-mail request form, I immediately sent to friends from MA (currently all over) who support Bush and probably didn't see incuding my son.

I received immediate response from the Sun but an hour later my son has not received. Do you think this might be some kind of dirty trick? My response from the Sun included the complete article so I can forward but perhaps I should wait.

I'm sure will hear just as much about this in the MSM as we did about the Crawford paper endorsing Kerry. (with a circulation of like 300)

/sarcasm
