WASHINGTON (AP) -- In the presidential campaign's closing weeks, Democrats are bracing for an "October Surprise," an event so dramatic it could influence the election's outcome. The capture of Osama bin Laden, for instance.
It's part of American political lore: the party out of power worries about a last-minute surprise engineered by the party in power. Now that October has arrived and the election is just a month away, speculation is rife among Democrats that President Bush and political mastermind Karl Rove have some tricks up their sleeves.
"I assume that it will be something," said House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of California. "We have to be ready for that."

Didn't Rove tell Hannity last week that he had a couple of surprises? I don't think OBL is one of them...anyone have a guess?

Actually, I think they are preparing their own "October surprise" and putting out that they are worried about Bush's October surprise is just to distract from their own devious, dastardly plans.

Okay, everyone. If you could create an "October Surprise" for the Democrats. What would it be?
I would have it "proven beyond a shadow of a doubt" that Rather and Kerry campaign cooperated in fabricating the National Guard documents in order to bring down the president.
If there is a surprise, most likely Hillary is behind it.
I hope they find the weapons of mass destruction so we can shut up the entire democrat party. The silence will be golden. Just think what that would do to the kerry campaign.
So, the Dems fear that OBL will be caught. Pretty telling, huh?
And the problem with this is...? The Democrats do it every election only it's usually some National Enquirer type gossip (such as Bush being an alcoholic with a DWI). Turnabout is fair play.
