Bush's state headquarters for re-election burglarized
Seattle Times ^ | Seattle Times

Posted on 10/01/2004 12:34:18 PM PDT by tdewey10

The Washington state headquarters for the president's re-election campaign was broken into last night, and police are investigating the theft of three computers from the Bellevue office. Missing are the computers used by the campaign's executive director, the head of the get-out-the-vote effort and one that had been set for delivery to the campaign's Southwest Washington field director, said Jon Seaton, executive director of the state's George W. Bush campaign.

Seaton said data on the computers was backed up and available elsewhere. But, he said, the loss creates a potential security breach about the campaign's so-called 72-hour plan, the Bush get-out-the-vote effort.

"Obviously there's some stuff there we wouldn't want our opposition getting their hands on," Seaton said.

The campaign has spoken about the importance of the 72-hour plan in swing states across the country. Bush campaign officials say it could make the difference in a close election if Republicans are able to make sure their voters get to a polling place on election day and don't sit home as many did four years ago.

Seaton was the first one in the office this morning. He did not notice the break-in until he walked into his office and saw a rock and broken glass on the floor.

A side window of the office on 112-th Ave. N.E. had been smashed.

Seaton said this morning that the campaign staff was still checking to see if anything else had been stolen.

State Republican Party Chairman Chris Vance called it a "Watergate-style break in" and said he suspects Democrats are behind it.

"If you're just some burglar looking for computers to sell to buy drugs you take every laptop in the office maybe," he said. "But they knew exactly whose computers to get. They got the executive director's computer and the get-out-the-vote director's computer."

State Democratic Party spokeswoman Kirstin Brost said Democrats had nothing to do with the break-in.

"I feel really bad. I know how upset I'd be if it happened to us," she said.

"There was nothing for us to gain by stealing those computers. Their secret plan isn't so secret and the fact is we're winning by a lot right now."

Vance said the break in follows reports of vandalized Bush campaign signs and what he said were telephone calls to voters alleging Bush would reinstate a military draft if re-elected.

"To me there is some scary stuff going on from liberal radicals whose Bush hatred is out of control," Vance said.

“No true dialogue or communication is possible with some of the close-minded elements that populate the radical activist liberal left.”

I believe that the reason for this phenomenon is that liberals base their arguments on emotion rather than facts. They just get pissed when you give them facts. They hate facts.

An example of what I mean by emotion over facts is the “book” I Rigaberto Menchu. The book was allegedly an autobiography of a Central American woman and the many horrible things that she had been through. The book was a tremendous hit in liberal circles. Problem was, the book was exposed as an almost total fraud. When the book was exposed as a fraud, did liberals quietly forget about the book? Of course not!

Liberals continued to promote the book, arguing that the fact that the book was fraudulent was not what was important; what was important was the story the book told!!! I have three quotes by liberal academics from Why the Left Hates America that I’ll post when I can.

Do you know if Fremont ever got the "Hat & Boot" from the old restaurant adjacent to Boeing Field? I know they were trying for it.

"This is huge. I'm a Washington Freeper. If this can be tied to the D's, we will SWEEP this state."

Well, I have to admit that I admire your optimism. I'm sure the RAT media will be right on it to determine who did this! It was Bush. He wanted to make the RATs look bad.

Wow. Checked the link. That's pretty baked. I bet the same worshipful pilgrims to Lenin's Image become "morally" outraged at the 10 Commandments in our courtrooms or "in God we trust" on our money, or "under God" in the Pledge.

Nothing like godless atheist Russian communism! NOT. WTH??? Who sculpted this? Who paid for it? Is there a list of donors available? What are their political affiliations? What are their criminal - and other - records? Are they engaged in activities that could be considered to fall under the old "alien and sedition" laws?(old Act of Congress), RICO oriented?, or a violation of the Patriot Act? Are they involved in intelligence gathering activities at the behest of China or Russia? Have they infiltrated any sensitive military or "private" sector vital area or facility?

Bottom line: Why is this statue there? Who put it there? What are all "concerned parties" (ugg, diplomatic-ese) involved in?

This statue is not just a statue; it represents a Trojan Horse Fifth Column element that needs to be investigated further.

"Shouldn't it be
Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo?"

Or "Break-in II: Sandy Berger Part Deux".

Don't know if the sequel was worse than "Superman IV", though--that's a toughie. . .Plus they'd both have to compete with "Jaws 3D".

Would it not be funny it there was somekind of a surveillance in the computer that could feed back to the RNC who is operating the stolen computer!

Or have software that will destroy all vital info by remote!

"And to think, Nixon had to resign as President for less than this. The media made sure of that, and yet this will be swept under the rug like Berger stealing docs and forged docs on CBS."

But remember, now there is FOX, conservative/GOP Bloggers, Drudge, Limbaugh, conservative talk-radio that won't let this go without a full airing and investigation. Look what happened in Rathergate, conservatives on the internet forced the issue, FOX/Limbaugh picked it up and ran with it and it became major headlines. Wouldn't have been nearly possible for something like that to happen say, 10 years ago.
Look what happened with the Lewinsky story, I think it was NBC who actually had the story and was prepared to trash it. Enter Drudge! So the MSM can't simply sweep anything under the rug anymore lest they fall prey to the wary sleuths lurking on the web and in the alternative media. They can choose to bury a story, fake one like Rathergate, deliberatly misreport a story like the one Rush talked about yesterday courtesy of CBS, but from now on they'll be looking over their shoulders.
