Appeals to the base but big mistake for them.
Will be viewed as a cheap shot.
You mean basest, right! LOL
There were a couple of absolute doozie contradictions by Kerry yesterday that the Bush campaign should put into a campaign ad. "In the presidential debates John Kerry said X; he also said Y. So what's Kerry's position? I guess we'll never find out..."
Yep, and I have never seen a candidate still trying to shore up his base this late in the game.
Mistake...their base will love it, but it looks like their picking on him.
How is that any cheaper of a shot than, say, the GOP running clips of Kerry wind surfing in flop-flop directions?
Answer: it isn't.
It's one thing to support a President. It's another to be blind to attacks.
Some of us freepers need to stop pretending that any time something bad happens to our President that "the voters can see through it."
If non-base voters could "see through" Dem crap, Bush would be at 75% in the polls.
Yeah. This is just fun for the hardliners. Bush looked disgusted, but it wasn't like he was smug like Gore or arrogant like Kerry. Most people will understand the look of disgust.
Not only will be viewed as a cheap shot, but as something learned from their filmic mentor, Michael Moore, and his
use of clips from Bush receiving news of 9-11 attack while talking to schoolchildren. If this "reaction" footage is used in nationally broadcast commercials, it will backfire tremendously on Candidate Kerry. They apparently never learn.
Sort of a nonverbal "Are you out of your F'n Mind?!".
It only makes the President a little more human that he could be quietly exasperated with Kerry's inane nonsense.
Was it Frank Luntz that said that Kerry looks like the
Tree that threw apples at Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz ??
(would love a cartoon with that)
"Will be viewed as a cheap shot."
It is and again avoids the issues.
It's petty and small minded.
