"Prediction Two: The Bushies will be a little down. Every time Kerry opened his mouth, conservatives thought of the eight different responses and attacks that they wanted to see, and Bush mostly didn't use them. Bush focused almost entirely on principles tonight, not policies."

yea I don't get it.... Why couldn't he use them? They're right! So frustrating watching him sit there and take it.

Okay, it's after 1:00 and I'm losing conciousness. Bush won. Get over it. Goodnight.

Bush was consistently staying on message, and the message was that he is consistent and Kerry isn't. Kerry tried all kinds of tricks and Bush didn;'t fall for them he just stayed firm in his resolve. The method reinforced the message.

It's called being "Presidential". Notice that Carrie didn't convey that persona.

Maybe that was what the bush camp wanted to happen. Let Bush sit there and take all the jabs in the first debate, and just tense up and take it again, and again, turning cheek after cheek... might gain support from people... People love a strong underdog. Then in Round two the bruised and embattled warrior keeps taking the jabs but towards the end gets a few swings of his own..., and finish strong with a round 3 with a flurry of punches and an uppercut sending the senator down for the count and the crowd goes wild!!!?

Or he was really tired from visiting with people in Florida today. Either way. God Bless Mr. President Bush. :)
