Ya know the bottom line is this...
The Candidate can say anything he likes about what he would do..... IF I WERE PRESDENT, I"D BOMB NORTH KOREA ".. it's just written off as " his policy".....
Now if the sitting president of the United States says the same thing .. it 's a a "WAR DECLEARATION"..
The candidate if free to speculate all he wants..
However if the President states the same thing it's "US POLICY"
The President words are held to a higher standard..
Too bad the American public doesn't understand this nuance
Bush is the grownup... Kerry is the man-child of Teyreza....
I think you should give the American public more credit. I was thinking the same thing to myself as I watched. I wondered what W really wanted to say about the war that is classified so he can't etc.
The Candidate made a number of damning statements. The ones I can easily recall include:
1. "The Global test." Americans want a President to act decisively to protect them, not one who is scared to make a move without Kofi's permission.
2. Whining about Bush's failure to sign Kyoto.
3. Stating he will give nuclear material to Iran.
4. Stating "Iraq was a mistake," followed by "I will stay in Iraq."
5. Stating he will unilaterally stop all us nuclear weapon development! Saying he will end the work on the nuclear bunker-buster program.
