Thread 1 - Pre-Debate discussion
I don't think Kerry will win the demestic debate. Bush will talk about taxes, taxes, taxes. He showed his hand tonight and Kerry will be shown to be a soft on defense big spender. No good for him.
Great!
A millionare that didn't need a tax cut!
Maybe we 'little people' do!
Another zinger that will show up to haunt Kerry.
Bush. Go to bed. LOL
I hope that somewhere, somehow, the media will get out the point by point on Kerry's lies during the debate, as well as his outlandish proposals.
Nukes to Iran? Hey, let's send some C-4 to Al Qaeda for that urban renewal they're so hot on!
"Terrorists are not a country."
That will not be the general view a year from now. Iran must be funding a lot of the Iraq insurgency. N. Korea is a terrorist state. We'll have no problem using nuclear bunker busters when the time comes. There are comparatively low yield with no mushroom cloud, so there won't be as much outcry. And they will be used after the stage is set by some massive terrorist strike (bigger than 9-11), so hearts will have hardened.
I think Bush did good. Kerry was smooth, and did better than I thought he would... But Bush stayed on message and Kerry was, well, Kerry. Obnoxious, elistist , know it all, I can do it better, I,I,I,I can do it better... I would have done this, I would have done that. Monday morning QB.
If Bush keeps up the "unfit to be President" schtick he will win the next two debates as well:)
The FR server was so bogged down tonight with traffic, that I doubt that Tonkin's graphics from Tonkin's graphics server going through your low speed modem was a problem. Given the FR server bottleneck, Tonkin's graphics through your modem had very little competition and probably slid right through.
Now your many posts, complaining -- that's a different story.
Yes! And I thought it was a skilled insertment, if that's a word, into the debate. This should serve as a handy sound byte if the Dems bring up this draft thing again.
The more I reflect on it, the more impressed I am with teh Prez's performance. Like someone posted, he won just by the fact that he had enough control to not go over and paste the traitor. He didn't "scare off" the uniformed, undecided, ambivalent voter with too much attack. He was focused. Admitted it was hard work....and he DIRECTLY asked for the people's vote.
Bush kicked Kerry's @$$ so hard, he's probably sh***ing out his ears as we speak.
Okay, it's after 1:00 and I'm losing conciousness. Bush won. Get over it. Goodnight.
I need no reminder and I appreciate your concern. There are dangerous aspects to a potential Kerry presidency. However, I remain an optimist. Times are changing and the way information is distributed and decisions made are changing. The revolution isn't coming. It's here. It ain't the Age of Aquarius.
Kerry made a couple of little errors like that tonight. At least Pres. Bush did not put a nazi camp in Moscow.
The Pottery Barn Rule reminds me of Daschle misquoting the Golden Rule on Meet The Depressed.
Bush was consistently staying on message, and the message was that he is consistent and Kerry isn't. Kerry tried all kinds of tricks and Bush didn;'t fall for them he just stayed firm in his resolve. The method reinforced the message.
Exactly!
He has been pretty consistent on that!
(((((((((((((((((((((((((( hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))))))) right back for you.
I thought sKerry seemed very Canfranish today...a Canadian Liberal with French surrender-cheese in his veins and he sent the same message that the Communist Spaniard, Zapatero, sent to the Muhammadan terrorists...John Fing Kerry will declare peace, hold statesman summits with the French (who all of a sudden will be one of those 'coerced allies' that will let sKerry bail out of Iraq when he 'outsources' the WoT) and act like their UN Oil for Food participation with Sodom Insane (and subsequentally the French's reason for obstructing the WoT, dragging us through the UN charade and generally acting and sounding like our enemy) never happened or doesn't matter!
(breath)
True........raising taxes and class envy, are NOT a winning hand;however,it's the one Kerry's playing.
Just had a thought..about the bunker buster bomb..perhpas Bush let that go because it may come up in the domestic issues "debate" and at that time Bush can point out that Kerry's plan to dump the bomb would be consistent with his votes agains all the weapons used today in the War on Terror...
