Thread 1 - Pre-Debate discussion
When Kerry said he'd never waver in his life, I let out a blood-curdling shriek I think the neighbors could hear...what a pompous idiot.
Bush is smart to remind all the soccer moms about what happened in Beslan.
Bush never attacks an opponent personally. He attacks their positions.
If it's too tough to watch the show, I recommend the Discovery Health channel. They are talking about female orgasms & breaking of the penis. At least it's informative.
>IF YOU HAVE NOTHING BUT EMOTION, NOTHING AT ALL, STFU!
We are not supporting Kerry if we say we are dissapointed in the way Bush came across at a certain point in this debate. You are the ignorant one here as far as I see, because this is about DISCUSSION. IF you are saying noone can say anything of thier opinion unless it is shining for Bush, then you STFU.
I don't think this is the end of the election for Bush, by any stretch. I was disspointed in a few things, but I think overall he's done ok.
That's what W has failed to grasp tonight. There are those wafflers out there who need someone to tell them point blank what the facts are and Bush is failing at that. Kerry is standing straight and tall and spitting out confidence with "facts" and that's what those fence sitters will notice. They won't see that Kerry is lying, but only that he came across more confident.
Go back to DU!
W doing GREAT!!!! "I have CORE VALUES and they do waver.....
Okay, now he's doing better. He's hit the last couple of qeustions out of the park. Saying that we need China's leverage and wanting a coalition when Kerry wants to go it alone against NKorea was masterful.
Kerry just did a major face plant, saying he would shut down the bunkerbusting nuke thingy as soon as he took office.
You pessimists were waiting for a screwup, hope you caught that one.
Bush is correct. the weight of China , Russia, japan and SK must be brought to bear on NK.
We cant patrol the world alone.
Kerry wants to work with france and germany
My impressions of Kerry:
ARTIFICIAL, CONTRIVED, RECONSTITUTED, NO CONNECTION,
STRUGGLING TO PORTRAY CONVICTION, STRAINED TO REMAIN CONSISTENT AND SHOW CONVICTION,
GOOD DEBATER IF YOU DON'T MIND THE LIES.
PEOPLE SEE THROUGH HIS LIES AND INCONSISTENT POSITIONS.
My impression of Bush:
SINCERE, REAL
PRESIDENTIAL
FOR MORE YEARS!!!
This is Bush's bread and butter (foreign policy/WOT), and if he's this awful here, it's only downhill at the other 2 debates (i.e.- Kerry - Bush gives nearly all tax cuts to wealthiest- Bush - ???)
I don't think many people are watching.
They will have a high rating.....but the question is ..."how many people kept watching after 15 minutes"?
This style of debate is boooooooring.
Odds are people changed the channel. WHICH IS A GOOD THING.
It would only hurt Kerry if people change the channel.
The President is being the President...down to earth, real, human...he's doing great.
When Kerry said he'd never waver in his life, I let out a blood-curdling shriek I think the neighbors could hear...what a pompous idiot.

Most of the media today was saying that Kerry needed to sell himself tonight and make himself clear on the issues, and I think he has missed that opportunity.
The President sure has made me nervous though, but I agree that his passion does count for something.
Bush is a "nice guy" however now is the time to get the boxing gloves on. He's blowing it. He could have had a field day with Kerry on character. Kerry attacked him.
Bush is looking weak. Kerry as insane as he is, is looking forceful and strong even though he is spweing **it and doesn' tknow his arse from a hole inthe ground. He's taking control. He's undermining Bush wiht bull**it.
Russia has a Treblinka Square? A square named after a concentration camp. Is this correct?
