Thread 1 - Pre-Debate discussion
I'm afraid we may get 4 years of a panderer in chief. And I don't mean President Bush.
> Kerry sounds like a senator
Some of Kerry's talking points sound INSANE !.
I also think G.W. Bush should stop acting defensive and act more like...."we are doing the right things...period"
He should also NAIL Kerry on his vote in the FIRST GULF WAR....the larget coalition in HISTORY....THIS NEEDS TO BE SAID....(the average voter would be like "whoa...he voted against that" -
Here we go....North Korea......Thank you Ex-President Clinton
Kerry could never build a coalition because he is not someone who is comfortable sharing the spotlight. Kerry would instruct everyone to sit down, and listen to his stories about how he knows everything because he was in Vietnam.
Kerry is coming across as Mr. Howell of Gilligan's Island: HOnestly! Does Kerry ever step on solid land when he's not on his "global" yacht? whew!
I am sick. Katie Couric will be wearing pink tomorrow...
Good counter attack by Bush on the international court!
What's with all this gloom on this thread?<
Baby, the rain must fall.
You want diversity?
YOU GOT IT ON FR!
SETTLE DOWN! DON'T LOSE HOPE. KEEP THE FAITH!!
Mr Bush is definitely on the defensive. I really hoped it would go better. I was disappointed he did not somehow link Iraq with the 9/11/01 attacks at al qaeda.
I thought the last time that Gore did better than Bush but polls didn't really reflect this. So hopefully Mr Bush will come out of this better than I think he is.
Again though, Dick Morris was wrong! He said Bush would cream Kerry in the debates. I wish Dick had been right this time.
Your husband must be talking to my husband. He keeps coming downstairs and filling the room with doom and gloom.
I feel sick in my stomach. I think Kerry is winning hands down. I hate to say it, but its what I feel.
All this time I thought you were serious about your comments until I saw this post.....thank goodness you have a good sense of humor! We may have lost the election because of a debate...lol...too funny...thanks for the chuckle
this reminds me of the first Reagan-Mondale debate that Reagan lost.
That's true in these Presidential debates. And Kerry does come across like a robot. Bush clearly takes the lead when he doesn't let his passion get ahead of him. Not everyone will see it the way we do.
Dems at work...that doesn't sound like fun. I can't stand to be around them at all.
Bush has lost the first half of this debate, but is now kicking some A. he is calming down and really doing better. Kerry is talkikng about silly stuff like ...welll he's so boring I forgot.
W needs to watch his face though-he looks condescending and Kerry looks more respectful.
W can pull this out, but I am afraid that the first few minutes is what people will judge him on then turn the channel.
W talks in very clear terms. He is straightforward- he just needs to drop the tone and get more conversational and less defensive.
Kerry sounds like a senator. Bush sounds like a President!
Great! I was trying to put my finger on it and I believe you hit the nail on the head.
