Two weeks ago our Bush yard signs where proudly surrounding the front yard. Over the last week the have been mysteriously disappearing. Has this happened to anyone else out there in Freepland? The Kerry guys must be getting desperate. More signs have been ordered!!
Your story reminded me of this cool old guy in my neighborhood when I was a kid. He had a corner lot and almost every weekend some kids would drive through his yard and tear up the lawn.
So one weekend day, I saw him pounding a post deep into his yard out at the corner and he put a light weight post near the house. He then tied an 1/8" braided steel rope tightly to the outer post and lightly to the post near his house.
On that Friday night, late after the football game, he heard a car going through his yard followed by a LOUD high pitched SCREECH that lasted several seconds.
The car had hit the wire grill high, as the driver kept going, and the wire separated from the one post and began to saw sideways through the front of his car. He had hit the brakes and tried to back out, then saw the guy coming out of his house. With the wire still sawed inches deep in his car's fenders, grill, headlight etc, he went forward again and let the wire go through to the end, and saw his car the whole time. It came out about a foot and a half through his left fender.
He was nailed the next day when word had gotten around about this guy's car.
I considered using a fence charger but didnt have one on hand and didnt want to spend the money.
Figured with lye and fire ants, if one didnt get em the other would.
Thats it. Thanks so much, I had been telling my husband, but it is funnier reading it.
Lost my yard sign Tuesday night in suburban Milwaukee, WI
The thieves tore it into small pieces which were scattered down the street for the entire block. (Littering Libs)
I'm getting 4 new signs this Saturday which will be mounted on my roof on a custom frame around my chimney. Better visibility, better protection from the crooks!
" Peterborough, NH...a bit of a liberal town, a bit artsy.... But a great place if you ignore the liberals. 2
I think I was there once . You have ( or did you have back in 1995 ) a restautant there run by a Japanese guy ? I forget the name of the place ...
They're hard to come by in this neck of the woods, so maybe your neighbors want them for their front yard... (Ok,Ok, it was just a thought...)
Mine disappeared last Saturday. I am in Maryland.
I have my "Sportsmen for Bush" bumper sticker right below my "NRA Instructor" and "Range Safety Officer" and "California Rifle and Pistol Association" stickers.
The Bush sticker has been there since 2000 and has yet to be touched.
Place some roofing tacks point up around the area, then listen for the crying.
I will...that is a great one!!
sorta like a Twinkie?
Burn em baby!!
Down in Depot Square, Aqui Bistro? Great food and wine.
I've been thinking about doing that - putting Bush/Cheney sticker over Kerry. Actually I should put Seniors for Bush stickers. Aren't politics fun.
I am surrounded by Kerry signs on both sides. I wonder why my neighbors do not talk to me??
Pine tar mixed with oxalic acid or hydrochloric acid. Let he skin on their fingers fall off. If they go pee-pee, the skin on THAT will fall off too!!!

Well, at least, nobody's been arrested -- so far. Consider the plight of an anti-Bushie from the state of Washington:
Dear Larry,
Last Thursday I put out one of my Bush/Cheney signs in my front yard. Between midnight and 3:00 a.m. someone stole it. On Friday night I put out sign No. 2. Since I didn't have to get up early, I thought my dog and I would "stake out" our sign. This time I put the sign a little closer to the gate leading to my backyard. With my dog on an extra long leash, I planted myself on a lawn chair and read "Unfit for Command" by flashlight until about 1:00 a.m. Here comes the fun part . . . I noticed that the car coming down the street was slowing down and pulling over to the curb right next to my yard. Sure enough, he gets out of his car and heads right for my sign. Just as he was about to uproot and desecrate it, I opened my gate and let my dog make the initial introduction! As he ran to hide behind the rear end of his car, I promptly moved to the driver-side door, which was still open. It was a fairly nice car with power everything and still running. While my dog continued to "introduce" herself, I rolled up the window and hit the power door lock button. With that, I slammed the door, grabbed my Bush sign and headed into the back yard.
And now for the "rest of the story." About 40 minutes later, I heard a knock at the door. I opened the door to one of our city's finest . . . the Vancouver Police Department. The officer asked me what was going on and when I told him, he could not stop laughing! I followed him out to the perp's car and stood there while he asked the guy a few more questions. Upon learning that the guy lived a couple of streets down, I -- knowing what was about to happen -- asked him, "Why do you have Oregon plates on your car if you live just down the street (here in Vancouver, Wash.)?" Larry, Oregon has no sales tax, so often Washington residents will buy and register cars in Oregon to avoid paying sales tax . . . it's a crime and the fine is pretty stiff. Here comes the best part. . . . The look on this guy's face told me he knew he was about to get busted. When the officer asked for his license and registration, the "Democrat" mumbled that (his license) was suspended. Just for kicks and giggles I asked the officer if he smelled any alcohol coming from the guy! The officer looked at me, smiled and promptly gave him a field breathalyzer test. Guess what? You got it, he blew a .10, legally drunk in the state of Washington.
DUI, illegal registration and the brand of "MORON," all 'cause he hates Bush!
Sincerely,
John
