A lot of them just have new screen names. Some legit, some not. Examples, eschoir probably had two or three hundred screen names and Ash was probably not far behind. Even some of the "great ones" had or have several screen names, Mojo, aligirl, Todd Brendon Fahey for examples. And even many of those who left us really didn't leave. They check in daily and report back to their comrades on the other side. It's kinda like the Hotel California, they checked out but they never can leave.
The great thing is, whether the old timers stay or go, FR continues to grow and grow stronger with each passing year, and we are without a doubt making a difference. A hugh difference. Ask Rather. Ask Kerry.

Agreed wholeheartedly Jim. I posted this thread because over the years I have had several arguments with people about how the oldtimers have left. I tell them they haven't (I still get the occasional email/FReepmail from many of them), that there is a pathology about FReeping, from lurking, to registration, to posting, to flaming and finally to anonymity. The fact is, after a period of time, everyone acquires a number of "detractors" and once one has said all they want to say, they just sit back, read, learn and let the new kids on the block have some fun.
FReepers never die, they sit back and watch the evolution of the site and jump in every now and then when they feel it needs a little nudging.
