I was having an argument with another FReeper about how many of the old timers were still around. I tell people there is a FReeper vsyndrome and that most of them are still around, they just don't post much anymore.

It was better,when newbies lurked a long time and then began to post already knowing and understanding this site.It's a shame that today's newbies sign up and rush right in.

I think a talley would just dilute what happened here. Naysayers will sclaim only a couple hundred out of thousands posted, yada yada. I say we enjoy seeing so many of those that helped start FR, and make it what it is today, saw the article and chimed in within 24 hours. Let this thread go on a month and I bet we'd see a thousand. It was (and continues to be) a real joy just seeing some of these old names pop up seemingly out of no where and reinforces my belief that many if not most still participate, even if it is as a lurker.
