I was having an argument with another FReeper about how many of the old timers were still around. I tell people there is a FReeper vsyndrome and that most of them are still around, they just don't post much anymore.
Here is your chance to put these rumours to rest. Chime in and let everyone know you still are alive and kicking. Post your registration number if you know it.
Who, me? (shining up the "halo of innocence" and whistling nonchalantly)
We didn't need mods, we had Deb. Most posters would be suitably chastened if they were admonished by Schultz or Gallutia on getting something wrong, but nobody and I mean nobody wanted to be taken down by Deb. Got your facts wrong? Haven't properly checked your sources? You would get sliced and diced and laid out for all to see.
You didn't want get on her wrong side, sweet Celtic lass that she is. ;-)
I am not going to be able to sleep if you keep this up. :) I'm going to FReepmail one of you if I don't find what I'm looking for...if that's alright?
February 12, 1998. I had been lurking for a long time before that. But the events of that day inspired me to start posting. Poopy pool thread. The bride who farted. DITHF. Michael Rivero. A+Bert. Ahhhhhh, what memories. fsf
Since Aug 3, 1998
Currently posting in another incarnation.
I remember when the new article page wouldn't turn over for a full twenty-four hours.
Some old names I haven't seen in ages:
Ann Khan
Ed Millar
Beverly Specht
Rodger Schultz
OWK
A+Bert
Lurker and Deb slapping each other around.
Peter W. Kessler
Brian Mosely
Harrowup
Ash
Don Morgan
I remember you, ANV - you were one of the straw bosses making things go right behind the scenes.
And you did a GREAT job, too. ;-)

I had no idea that I was in the top 500.
I still tip my hat to the many, much more serious contributors to Free Republic. I show up to be educated and sometimes add marginally witty banter.

You are one of the original and most prolific activists on FR. Bless you.
I made my first response on a thread, I believe, in June of 1998.
I went to the March for Justice in 10/98, the House Mgrs. Dinner, - and the freeper event for the Inauguration.
My first post was in July of '98. I don't know anything about a registration number. In fact, I didn't even know I had one until you asked for it.
Could be fun, just keep the nuts away.
I was up in Prescott a few weeks back for an overnight with a day conference at Hassayampa Inn, nice place. All on the taxpayer's dime.
You're kidding, right?
You were a Victorian in your last incarnation, I'll swan!
"The sun never sets over the British Empire". :-)
I'm sorry, but I have the coolest number -- #4444! Signed up in the spring of 98, and have been totally addicted ever since.
Thanks for your kind words.....do you like my hat? LOL
Thanks for the ping, Ben, but I don't meet the criteria. Lurker since 1998 when you turned me on to FR, but didn't sign-up until 12/03/01, #74253. BTW, you're up kinda late for an old fart.
Some of us have changed our screen names. I am currently VRWC_minion. Maybe I'll revert.
7/30/98
How do you find out your number?
I signed up on 7/4/98
